I'll start by noting that I'm a mechanic, and installed this thing on a 2017 GMC Acadia with the car on a lift. While not necessary, it sure made it easier to have everything at chest level. But even with that advantage, it was a several hour install and not for the faint of heart.You'll need a second set of hands or a hoist (or both) to get the awkward, 70 lb. heft of this thing into position before you start bolting it up. Then you'll have to do some drilling. Then some cutting of the air dam and fascia - both what was described in the instructions and some improvisation to overcome minor bumper cover clearance issues. So again, you should plan to be more than "handy with a screwdriver" if you plan to do this yourself. But if you have good tools, mechanical aptitude, and take your time, it should go smoothly.At bottom it's a very high quality, well made piece of equipment. Built like a brick sh!thouse, as my Grandfather used to say - I have no doubt it will serve me well.

Everything went fairly smoothly on the install until it came to installing the 6 pin on the mount. They inserted a sheet saying it had been redesigned.... Well, the screws they shipped were so poor quality that they both snapped off when trying to screw them in (they are some sort of self tapping). Blue Ox sent me new screws which was good, except I had to figure out how to get the snapped screws out of the 2 shaft/mount. I ended up using a dremel and cutting off the mounts past the screws. Since I don't have a front license plate, it was okay to do this. I am shocked that they would ship terrible screws for this mount/ create such a poor design that even allows for this. Not good. Gives me pause over the overall quality!
