2015 Fiat 500. Frustrated aircraft and automotive tech 40 years and still taking one for the team. Take note. Blue Ox should trim the excess off so it doesn’t interfere with the plastic bumper. I assumed that it will fit without hacking the bumper to bits. You can’t see what is causing the problem till you have mangled it. Then you discover the problem is excess material on the weldment that could be removed without affecting the strength. Maybe the first one they made fit. And production can’t follow the blue print. Definition of ASSUME make an ASS out of U and ME

In the past I've built my own base plates, for four different tow vehicles, this time I ordered the Blue Ox, because I got a deal on a Blue Ox, tow bar, the base plate was here in four days and was installed in three hours, and I had problems with rusted bolts on our Fiat, and still had it done in three hr. Well engineered and heavy duty. The only thing I would change is the light plug bracket, they put it in the center of the grill, I would put it to one side or the other, so the light cord would have support from one of the bars. ( now hows that for knit picking )

Blue Ox came quickly and the quality of components were excellent.. I had a neighbor help me install the base plate. He had installed it on his car and his experience was invaluable. It went on without to many difficulties. The hard part was the wiring of the lights. We had to find out where to find the channel to run the wires as no instructions came with base plate or wiring harness. Don't attempt to try this unless your are very knowledgeable of electrical systems. As I said, I had help from someone who had previously done the entire installation. It works great and we love the ability to tow.

Very happy with unit. Easy install. The Fiat 500 is about the only car you can flat tow and leave key off, or not even in ignition. Will submit photos later.

HAD TO CUT OVER AN INCH OF OUR BUMPER ALL THE WAY ACROSS TO MAKE IT WORK - BUT IT FINALLY INSTALLED AND IT LOOKS REALLY SHARP. WE ARE NOT MECHANICS AND WE DID IT. THE HOOK UP IS REAL EASY TOO.
