Last year we replaced our wedding cake stairs with a ladder. We hated it. This year, we bought this wedding cake stairs and it is perfect, sturdy and beautiful

Steps floated up and broke off where the railing attached to the deck.

Writing this review after two years of ownership. The steps are sturdy and are assembled easily. My two main issues are as follows. 1). These steps need a ballast and there is not a great way to do it since the bottom is hollow. 2) The cheap rubber moulding that covers the sharp plastic edges are affixed with cheap plastic screws. They do not hold up and we had a corner piece continually fall off after repeated attempts to fix it. Walked out to pool this evening and we had a 1 inch tear in the liner from the corner of the steps. I would not buy them again.

Love these steps! Put them in last week. We have a deck around our pool, so the steps “floating” away isn’t an issue for us and didn’t have to buy any weights or sand to hold them down. Ours came with the mat to put down underneath. Easy to assemble—My husband put them together in 30min or less. Kids enjoy it! The rail is pretty dinky, but I guess that is to be expected. Just know that nobody really needs to be hanging/swinging all over it.

We installed these in our pool around 2 weeks ago now. As others have said, they do float! We thought we’d gotten them weighed down, and went outside later on one day and they were standing sideways in the pool! How they didn’t break off the deck completely, I don’t know! Anyway, we got two sand bags to put inside them, but can’t seem to find a way to keep the bags secured well inside so the stairs don’t move around. They are still going side to side about 2-3” each way. If the company would simply add another bracket to attach to the deck, so the steps would be attached in two places, this would help tremendously!Overall we do like the steps themselves. They are a good size, nice to walk up and down, and a great place to lounge also. Our yellow Lab can also now get in and out of our pool!

The manufacturer’s claim that it does not need ballast is completely untrue! The bracket attaches to the deck and to the flimsy handrail on the stairs. It sort of holds it in place, but because the stairs try to float, they constantly move up and down and side to side. This causes it to move the pad around and eventually, the pad drifts away. This leaves the sharp bottom edges directly on the pool liner. The little rubber strip on the bottom edge is insufficient. The floating and moving of the stairs eventually ( after just a few days) caused the bracket (that is supposed to hold the stairs in place) to break in half. The stairs were then free to float around. By the time we discovered this there were four (4) holes in our pool liner. This is a really lousy product with a very misleading description on Amazon.

This worked much better than I thought it would!!! Very simple to put together because the directions were very clear and easy to follow. My son and I were able to put it together before my husband got home. And then three of us were able to place it in our Intex pool. Just make sure you have a level area to place the steps. It sank in to the pool easily and is pretty sturdy without an extra weight. Although I did order a sand weight...I don’t think we will need it. I highly recommend this product!!!
