It was a good pump but unfortunately it only lasted 2 short seasons (May - Aug) The warranty is for 1 year, so we definitely will not purchase another one. We have been pool owners for more than 20 years and this has been a costly mistake. We did contact the warranty dept and took all the requested pictures/info etc but bottom line...no guarantee after 1 year. It worked great for a total of 8 months, so if that works for you....

Worked well for one year, then burned up. It was turned on every single day (Florida) since its installation 3/25/24. On 4/25/25 it stopped working. I contacted blue wave who answered emails and then let me know their 90DAY warranty has expired and I would need to buy a new one.I will buy a new one but NOT A BLUE WAVE.

On my third one of these; the first died after two years, the replacement lasted 1 month. I was out of amazon warranty so I had to go through the company which was pretty painless. I submitted some pics, proof of purchase and got a response after a few days. The sent me new pump which arrived in 3 days.Overall the price and performance are outstanding, but the product longevity may suffer some. For me if I can get 2-3yrs out of this its a win.

I previously gave this 1 star because it was gushing eater from the strainer cap but the product does have a 1 year warranty and they honored it and sent me a new pump. The customer service was very prompt and helpful.Hopefully the new unit will work!

I had a Pentair 3/4 HP that was starting to be very noisy after 3 seasons of use. This one compared makes almost no noise. it is 1.5HP but use the same power (600Watts) as the 3/4 HP Pentair and the flow is a little bit less yahm the Pentair but still totally fine. Also now I have a low speed (200 Watts) and that will allow me to run the pump 24/7. Time will let me know if it last a few years...

Works great, as far as leaks are concerned----yes it leaked on the discharge so I put a 1 1/4 OD rubber washer in and on the male end of the fittings put "pink teflon tape and pipe dope---no leak.

I couldn't pass this up. My pump needed it's gadgets replaced this summer. While looking for gaskets I stumbled across this. I bought it on a sale price for $100. Hooked it up and the replaced my gaskets and lubed up my original. Now I have one incredible backup. Well worth the money.

I installed it yesterday, minimal effort outside of the fact I previously hard-lined my plumbing so I had to cut, fit, glue new PVC. From appearance alone it looks like really solid quality construction. Love the two speeds, not sure how my energy Savings will be, but I’ll monitor that. My biggest number one reason I’m loving this pump/motor is that my previous motor bearings we going out and they were singing so bad I could about hear it in the house. This motor is more quiet than my previous motor when new. I have it on full speed now and can’t hear it unless I’m standing right next to it. It is super quiet. One bit of advice, if you hard lined your plumbing, you’ll need to extend the line from the filter valve, as the outlet going from the pump to filter is not center line on top of pump like other pumps.

For that Price , I think you cant expect more. Two speed can save you money on low speed and Power when needed.Only cons is that the Electric cord is a bit short.

Bought this in 2015. Run it on low 24/7/365. I only put it on high to backwash, or vacuum the pool. my pool stays clear. Most important I don't see any difference in my power bill. I will say when I ran it on high it seams to push the water through the sand too fast and the pool clouds up. so on low,no noise and I really mean no noise on low. We have to walk out to pool to see if the water is coming into the pool it is that quiet. I am going to reorder this pump in jan 2021 to have as a backup. on low you can even run on a generator if you have a power outage. I have had single speed and dual speed pumps and I will always have a dual speed. This is hooked up to a Hayward 24" big sand filter. this pump is great and has ran non stop since 2015 straight through winter.
