I received this glass tube as a replacement part for my 55W UV sterilizer. At first, I didn’t realize I was installing it incorrectly, but Blueonics customer service was patient and even worked with me on a return, as I initially thought it didn’t fit my setup. After some reconsideration, I tried installing it again, and sure enough, it turned out to be user error. Needless to say, I’m very happy with its quality and would definitely purchase it again in the future.

I did the annual light check and unknown to me when I lifted the light from the crystal tube - the white botton of the light fell off in the tube. As the light was working I did not fully remove it, and didnt know the base fell off. When I placed the light back in the tube the loose base part caused the crystall tube to break at the end. Water immediatlly began rushing through the light port. Thankfully I installed the by-pass values and could immediatly shut off the water. Also, a great reminder to use GFCI outlets. I had spare lights but no spare crystall tube. I would make sure you have the by-pass valves installed and spare parts. I also had to use a 233 o-ring to get the solid end cap from leaking on re-assembly. Since the glass tube shattered in the water flow I had to make sure no glass shards go in the water line. If I were to install this again I would put a filter on the final outlet line of this unit as well.

Replacement bulbs do not come with spare gaskets or o rings. If you have trouble removing the shell you’re going to be screwed

I decided to take up treating my water and I did gamble buying from wholesale market LLC. This purchase was in 2016 and I am still extremely pleased with their commitment to solving all my problems. I had a 220v mains and discovered only after my purchase that I had a 110v, I contacted them and they sent me a 220v ballast at no cost. I broke my quartz sleeve while doing routine maintenance and reached out to them and I got a replacement with new seals. Like they knew my old ones needed replacement. At some point I had doubts if the UV light was eliminating bacteria, so I bought a test kit and despite my UV being first on my system to my amazement the test kit gave negative results for E. coli and other bacteria. I did a replacement of my bulbs 2ce since 2016. For the length of use I estimate that’s about every 6-12 months. Also given the quality of my water I have to clean the quartz and the whole UV system every 6-12 months as well.
