From the CLASSIC ARMY MEN COLLECTOR SERIES, BMC Toys brings back another classic set of figures from the golden age of army men playsets. This bag of 32 Tan IMPERIAL JAPANESE PLASTIC ARMY MEN is proudly manufactured in the United States and features 12 different figures. Troops are approximately 1:32 scale and stand up to 2.1 inches tall. Made from slightly flexible LDPE plastic with fine details and just a little flashing.
These WW2 soldiers representing the Empire of Japan were originally introduced in the 1960s by Louis Marx & Company in some of their famous WW2 Playsets, including Iwo Jima, History in the Pacific, and in the1980s even served as Iraqi forces in some Operation Desert Storm playsets. They were later produced in hard plastic for the hobby market. These will make excellent troops for a variety of WW2 Pacific set ups, or reinforcements for your Tan Army Men.
This is a set of real American Made plastic toys, meant to be set up, knocked down, picked up and played with for many years to come. LITTLE GREEN ARMY MEN have even been inducted into the National Toy Hall of Fame. Packed in plastic bag with insert card and recommended for ages 5 and up.

classic old school plastic toy soldiers. Despite the overall high quality a couple of the soldiers were poorly moulded, one to the point where it could not stand.None the less happy small boy

Absolutely brilliant plastic soldiers! Can't believe the quality of these pieces for less than $25 & you get a stack! Sure, Airfix have recently re-released some of their '70's 1:32 scale plastic soldiers, but they're brittle & are poor value for money compared to these guys that were sculpted a decade earlier.If you're into assembling 1:35 scale hard-plastic soldiers, then there's the likes of Tamiya, Masterbox, Zvezda & other manufacturers that produce quality, detailed figures - but, at a price. Having said that, the assembly-type figures are for display only, whereas these not-so-little guys are suitable for playing with your grandkids.So impressed, I bought several others from the range as they can't be beat. Beware though. Some of the other sets are more detailed than others.I'd recommend these sets as they're exceptionally well-detailed & varied for the price:(1) BMC Classic Marx US Soldier Plastic Army Men - WW2 Soldiers - I bought a set of the TAN-coloured soldiers & also a set of the same soldiers in PINK (!)(2) BMC Classic Marx Japanese Plastic Army Men - TAN 32pc WW2 Soldiers(3) BMC Classic Marx Russian Plastic Army Men - BURGUNDY BROWN 36pc WW2 SoldierI also ordered the stand-alone Iwo Jima US Soldiers (with the dude yelling orders from the top of a crate!) & the Iwo Jima combat set, which has a selection of the stand-alone Iwo Jima US Soldiers & some Japanese Soldiers. I ended up returning these two sets as the details were not of the same quality. Don't get me wrong, they're still better than the el-cheapo stuff you get in $2 shops, but they were disappointing when judged against the first three sets (listed above). If you're wondering, the US & Japanese soldiers are NOT the same as in the first three sets (listed above); different moulds, different poses & probably different sculptor.

These WWII Japanese soldiers originally appeared in some of the legendary Louis Marx Company playsets of the 1960s. The current set was made from the original Marx molds and differs from the 1960s versions only in the shade of their tan color. The Louis Marx Company was famous for the beauty and detail of their toy soldiers, and this shows in these plastic Japanese warriors. They are wonderfully animated in a wide range of action poses. Made of a highly durable soft plastic, they will hold up to years of play. These figures should appeal to anyone wanting to diversify their plastic WWII armies or who is interested in wargaming or doing dioramas of WWII in the Pacific. This reasonably priced set is a splendid addition to BMC's growing line of reissued classic toy soldiers.
