Easy swap in. Smooth creamy, rich, chunky tone. Just what the strat needed.

Mechanically it was a poor fit. Had to dremel one edge. Most holes were misaligned. The wiring colors were weird. Who uses red for ground?!?When it was sorted out the humbuckers finally worked well. No noise at all.

I bought this to install on a Squire Bullet Strat. The fit was tight but I didn't have to route. I had to drill one screw hole that didn't line up with the original pickguard, but that was easy.I was able to wire it easily once I realized it was easier to remove the old wires from the jack and solder new wires to it. The old Squire wires were too hard to work with.SOUND. The height of these pickups do make a nice difference in tone. I wanted something a little thicker than a single coil and these work well the higher I raised them. I can remove the strat sounding brightness on the bridge pickup by rolling off the tone. I am also able to really darken the tone by kicking in a variable clean boost pedal. The hotter the signal hitting my Boss distortion, the less bright and thin it is. My goal was to have this cover both P90 and humbucker tones on a budget. I don't want to take my "nicer" guitars on certain gigs. This is going to work with some adjustments to my rig. My only complaint is the volume pot is not well tapered in function. The volume swells quickly at the 7 -8 notch. I rely on the volume knob for rhythm and lead so I may change out to better quality pot. Other than that, with different gain settings for distortion, these pickups are quiet (no buzz from the guitar) and can retain a nice strat tone while giving a nice humbucker-like tone too if you clean boost the signal before hitting a distortion pedal or amp. EDIT: The issue with the sensitive volume pot is directly related to the level set on the clean boost. If I leave the clean boost level at 4 or 5, everything works fine. If I push the clean boost to 8 or higher, the pickup vol pot has less range.

Humbuckers in single coil slots. I'll say that again. HUMBUCKERS IN SINGLE COIL SLOTS! SO AWESOME!

I had a S-S-H custom setup and it sounded excellent BUT it was noisy as hell except for humbucker only. I finally got sick of it and ordered this: $56 so why not. I had to Dremel the pickguard to fit my custom neck, but the rest went together in about 10 minutes. The output is much lower than my custom rig BUT quiet as a church mouse, and I mean SILENT. I had to raise the pickups, then figure out the correct tone settings on my Mesa-Boogie, but once I did it sounds like Hendrix, Blackmore, Trower, whatever Strat tone you can imagine WITHOUT buzzing and hum. Would have been worth it at $200. ONE MORE COMMENT: On a standard Stratocaster 1 tone is for the neck pickup, 1 tone for the middle pickup, and the bridge pick up has no tone pot and is always full treble BUT NOT HERE. For some reason the middle pickup tone governs both the middle AND the bridge pickup. VERY USEFUL!!!

Didn't know what to expect but was very pleasantly surprised with this wired pickguard. So much so that I purchased two more.

Actually quite impressed! Has great tone, good clarity but punchy like a really good p90 but less hum! Great for the blues and early rock/metal. I'm sure the Duncans are way better but I'll pay the price of these all day long!

I was looking for a cheap replacement for my MIM strat pickups.Pros:- The pickups are actually noiseless! Holy cow! Was not expecting that something so cheap would actually work.- Gives you some pretty decent tones with the 5 way switch. Warm neck, chimey in position 2 & 4, bridge is okay. Is it better than the Seymour Duncan Everything Axe? No. But at the 10TH OF THE PRICE you really can't complain.- Delivery date Amazon gave me was weeks away, but I actually got it within 2 weeks.Cons- The pickguard holes do not line up with a standard Fender 11 hole pickguard. I had to leave one of the screws out to get the other 10 holes to line up. But hey, it still works.- Small cheap pots. You could always spend more $ to upgrade. But you get what you pay for.Again, is it the best upgrade ever? No. But for price it's pretty hard to beat and was worth the gamble.
