  • This is the SPORT MODEL - Short Handle - Comes With Both Manual and Automatic Reset Handles - The sport model is for fiberglass boats and also works with aluminum boats that have a directly mounted standard U bolt bow eye that does NOT have a thisck mounting plate about it. This model is common and works on 95 percent of boats out there. This specific model DOES NOT Work on aluminum LUND, alumunum Alumacraft, Aluminum Ranger or Tracker boats. Please refer to our other models for these setups.
  • Stainless Steel NON Corrosive - Upgraded Stolts Polyurethane Protector - Comes with a small Roller on the front to prevent the bow tip from catching when launching - Built in poly washer on the mouting plate for a smooth pivoting rotation - Clamp travels past the polyurethane to prevent steel on steel wear to your bow eye when latching and traveling - Low profile design to prevent boat and trailer displacement after install
  • Installation of the Boat2Trailer automatic boat latch is very simple. This boat latch is designed to be a bow roller replacement, therefore it is a one bolt installation. You can simply remove your bow roller from your boat trailer and install our Ramp N Clamp Boat2Trailer automatic boat latch in its place. The installation takes roughly 10 minutes. Be sure to use roughly 22 - 26 ft lbs pressure on the insall bolt (snug). This way your latch can still pivot when needed at steeper landings.
  • MADE IN USA - Our Boat2Trailer Latch by Ramp N Clamp is manufactured here in the U.S.A. The automatic boat latch by Ramp N Clamp has been collaboratively engineered at Skeeter, Ranger and Mastercraft boats and in production in the United States since 2012.
  • What it does - The automatic boat latch allows you to load a boat by your self in seconds. You simply drive your boat up the trailer. Once the eye of the boat comes in contact with the clamp device, it will lock onto the eye and lock your boat to the trailer. You then exit the boat and pull to the dry waters edge to hookup your safety chain and strap for travel. It's that easy. Boat2Trailer dot com has many helpful videos as well.

Ramp N Clamp Automatic Boat Latch

The Ramp N Clamp cover is made up of an upgraded Stoltz Polyurethane to prevent damage to your boat. Stoltz has been known around the world for its superior super roller material and we have upgraded it to an even stronger more resistant protector. It is abrasion resistant, Non-staining, known for it’s highest standard of less marking, won’t split or crack and will not flat spot after months of storage.

The hardware is constructed of a stainless steel to prevent corrosion and help prevent rusting of the boat latch. Stainless steel is an extremely tough and highly durable material with high impact resistance.

Ramp N Clamp Handle Options

Automatic Boat Latch Handle Options

SHORT HANDLE -The short handle will come with 2 handles. "Automatic” and a “Manual”. The automatic handle requires you to float the boat to launch, but automatically resets after launch. The manual handle enables you to open the clamp at anytime and keep it open. When you enter the water the boat will just float off the trailer and you will NOT be required to pull the lever. BUT you will be required to manually flip the lever back down when you are ready to load the boat again. Please Note: The short handle CAN NOT BE CONVERTED TO LONG HANDLE

LONG HANDLE The Long handle option is great for launching your boat from inside the boat. If you prefer to be inside the boat when you launch, the long handle is the option we suggest. Many customers add a rope to the handle in order to stand deep inside the boat when releasing. This option does require the boat to be floating in order to release. Please Note: The Long CAN NOT BE CONVERTED TO SHORT HANDLE

Compatibility Breakdown

Ramp N Clamp Compatibility

Automatic Boat Latch Compatibility

WEIGHT LIMIT- We recommend boats under 6,500lbs. SEMI V FRONT - The boat must have a slight V in order to lock onto the eye. If it’s a semi V, modified V, Deep V, Tri V etc it should qualify. If it has a flat front but it does have a ridge, it will work. If the front is completely flat it will not work. BOW EYE PLACEMENT - The bow eye or U bolt on the boat must be positioned under the bumper or roller of the winch arm. The bow eye should also be touching the bumper or roller. If it is below the roller 1-12″ you will need to adjust your winch arm height. The bow eye of the boat needs to slide up into the latch in order for it to grab. Adjust your winch arm accordingly in order to make this compatible. There can Not be a gap between the roller and the boat. BOW EYE - The latch works with standard U bolts and cannot have allot of thickness at the base of the eye. The bow eye should be the same width throughout. In order for the latch to be able to grab the eye properly it cannot have a large weld or increase in thickness at the base of the eye. Obstruction - The boat has to be able to slightly slide up the latch in order to properly engage. If there is an obstruction on the keel or upper bow, the boat latch may catch on the obstruction and not work properly. Please note a standard ridge around the hull should not cause issues. It’s only when the ridge flares or extends over the keel.
