I have a commercial bag target which is filled with fabric and some sort of poly stuffing material so arrows are not normally real hard to pull out. But lately it has been getting a lot tougher for some reason....or maybe I am getting weaker? So I started using my Lube Tube again and just filling it with cooking oil - corn oil I think, which did seemed to make a difference.Yes I was using cooking oil before buying this. Years ago, like 20 years now, I bought a Lube Tube. Not sure who made it then, AEE makes it now, but it's a plastic tube that is filled with a dense sponge type fabric which is rolled up inside the tube and absorbs oil. So when you shove the arrow into the hole it coats the last three inches or so with oil.The design of the Lube Tube makes it very convenient and easy to use, but the refills are $17 and I figured it would probably not be much better than the cooking oil. Then I saw a YT review on the Archery Supplies channel where he compared three different type of arrow lube and the Bohning came out on top. Not only is it less expensive than the Lube Tube refills, it comes in a dispenser that looked like I could take apart and use the oil in my old Lube Tube...which is what I did.Ends up it works pretty well and is noticeably better than using cooking oil. I did try it using the dispenser it came in and it works well enough, it's just not very convenient to use. Well not as convenient as the Lube Tube anyway. So I replaced the fabric in the Lube Tube with something comparable I had lying around and soaked it with the Bohning oil. It only took maybe a 1/3 of the bottle so I can get a few more fills from what is left. A little goes a very long way too.I have no problem recommending the Bohning oil, but if it were me, I would spend a little extra and buy a Lube Tube first, use that until you run out of oil, then try the Bohning. The Lube Tube is a lot easier to use, makes the oil last a lot longer and it's a lot more convenient. There are times when you are shooting, like in tournaments, where they use the large round dense foam targets and they can be hard to pull arrows from. So it's nice to have something that makes it easy to coat the arrows, even every couple of ends if it's needed.I did not mean to make this an ad for the Lube Tube, but it is what it is.All that said, the Bohning Arrow Lube works very well and comes at a good price so I have no problem recommending it.
