I absolutely love my bonmusica shoulder rest for my viola. I had a cheaply made Kun shoulder rest for the past year and it constantly fell off my viola and did nothing to support my instrument. This bonmusica shoulder rest is comfortable and takes the stress off of my shoulder and fits my 15’ viola perfectly. I would highly recommend this to everyone

I am a very petite 5'2" woman with a narrow shoulder span. It took me a long time to find a shoulder rest that helped alleviate pain between my shoulder blades and in my neck and jaw. I am able to relax my chin and let the rest do the work of holding the instrument on my shoulder which makes playing much more enjoyable and easier for me. Highly recommend it as you can customize the height to fit your needs.

Perfect! My son avoided using his shoulder rest for years when playing his viola because it was more uncomfortable that without one at all. This one is comfortable he says, and fits well with his longer than average neck. His music teacher says his playing had improved because his posture is better with this. Worth the money for us . Does not fit well in the several carrying cases we have tried, but we are making due by not zipping it up all the way.

This shoulder rest supports the instrument well, freeing up my left hand. My neck and arm don't get tired. I have tried many shoulder rests through the years, and this is my favorite for the viola.

If you suffer from neck pain and/or arthritis, this shoulder rest is worth a try. It will correct your instrument placement and relieve stress from your neck.

My daughter has owned two of these shoulder rest and was not pleased. One of the metal pieces on her first model (a full size violin) snapped off. The foam of her second model (the 15" viola) peeled off and is now completely covered in duct tape. Two other musicians that we have talked to say the same: it's not durable. Both of them have updated to the Wolf, and she will be doing the same.

I have done research about viola and violin shoulder rest. And this comes the best one that we have. Just bought recently the viola shoulder rest and immediately my daughter feels natural and much better with long playing time. This shoulder rest can be adjusted to completely fit to the contour of the individual shoulder with strong grasp on the upper part of the shoulder, which helps alot to maintain natural posture during play. Strongly recommended, even though a little higher price compared to other branch.

I convinced myself to by this shoulder rest after reading the previous rave reviews. I previously owned a kun and had intended to get another kun until I saw this one. The kun was comfortable and adjustable. But if I thought the kun was a 9 on a scale of 1-10, then this shoulder rest is a 15. The Bon Musica shoulder rest actually hooks over the back of the shoulder making the neck do a lot less work. I occassionally found myself gritting my teeth with the kun rest as I pressed my chin into the chin rest to hold my instrument up. That is completely unnecessary with the Bon Musica as it takes about 1/10 the effort to hold my instrument up now. I even find that my vibrato is better because I'm not trying to balance my instrument on my left thumb at all. The instrument stays up and is sturdy with almost no effort. The Bon Musica adjusts both up and down as well as being able to change the curvature somewhat. I found that the out-of-the-box set-up worked great for me. The only thing that I can't agree with from other reviews is that it "never slips." This rest slips just like any other rest from time to time. How well it stays on probably varies with the make of your instrument. I will probably use rubber bands to help secure mine.
