Men's Roller skates

Men are typically very hard on their roller skates so they require skates that can take a beating. Many men's roller skates are made with thin leather so even a small crash can damage your skates. Bont's men's roller skates are made with durable materials with triple stitching to withstand mild crashes and keep you skating for a long time. Men's roller skates are typically blue, black, and red colors.

Women's Roller Skates

Women's roller skates often come in bright colors such as pink, purple, and teal colors. Women's roller skates can come in different styles such as outdoor roller skates, speed skates, park skates, street skates, indoor skates and, roller derby skates. These skates are perfect for girls roller skates, kids roller skates, roller skates for women, and roller skates for girls aged 6-12.

Indoor vs Outdoor roller skates

These Bont roller skates are designed for outdoor skating. They come with 89A outdoor skating wheels which can also be used indoor but they are not designed to be the absolute best indoor wheels. If you want to change from outdoor skating to indoor you could buy a set of indoor wheels which are typically harder than these wheels. Look for indoor wheels that are between 89A and 98A. Outdoor wheels for roller skating are typically in the hardness range of 78A to 83A. Can you use these skates for indoor skating as they are? Absolutely! Unless you are a really good skater, using these skates for indoor skating will be perfectly fine.

Bont skates roller derby speed inline speed skating history about us

HISTORY

Bont was founded in Sydney in 1975 when Inze Bont, a recreational speed skater decided to fiberglass the back of his leather speed skates to gain more support. Bont was the first footwear manufacturer to use exotic material like fiberglass in 1974, Kevlar in 1986 and Carbon Fiber in 1989, and the first to use heat moldable resins and thermoplastics. In the 1980's Bont dominated the quad racing scene with the lightest and strongest boots on the market thanks to our unique one-piece manufacturing technique. Bont was the first quad skate company to use lace covers, velcro, and aluminum strengtheners in the boots.

In the search for good skates, one president factor is comfort. With comfort comes confidence and with confidence in your skates comes progress. I've searched for countless months for the right skates for me. Recommendations always say Riedell, Edeia, and others that are well known in the skate community, but for me those didn't work for my wide feet. I chose the route of "barefoot shoes" for healthy feet, but with that comes, wider than the current norm, feet. So when i came across Bont skates they sounded good, and I gave it a try. These skates fit just like my barefoot shoes and give my toes room to splay and relax comfortably. I now have more confidence in every stride and skate move I make. These will be my forever skates. If you have wide feet, definitely give them a try. I'm almost guaranteed you'll like them.

I absolutely love Bont skates. I am in my late 50s and this is my 3rd pair. Not because something is wrong with them, it's because I love them so much. I love the fit, the quality and the overall looks of them. Thw wheels are great. Great ankle support. Please measure your feet as suggested, in order to get the correct size. They are a great value and will last forever if you treat them right.

I have quite a few pair of skates and had wanted to try these for a while. I finally scored a pair in my size from Amazon warehouse in “very good” condition. Bont sizing is VERY different so it’s super important to measure your feet and use the size chart. I measure 3 sizes smaller than my street shoe size. Normally I would not have heat molded them and let them break in naturally. But because I have a nerve in my foot that gets triggered by pressure and causes severe swelling and pain, I decided to heat mold these with my blow dryer. It was so easy and fun. The entire base and counters soften and you can shape them exactly how you want them. I was able to make room for my sensitive area and also tighten up my heel area. They are now absolutely perfect and fit like a glove. The wheelbase on the tracer plate is a little longer than I’m used to but I’m adjusting well to it. The hidden heel is high enough that it feels similar to an art boot and not once have I felt like I was going to fall backward like I normally do with a flat skate. I definitely recommend these to someone who is looking to park or trail skate. Super comfortable and the boot is made well. It will definitely hold up to abuse. Very happy with my purchase.

I really like these skates. They are comfortable and supportive.I don’t particularly love the color/design of the wheels but they do work great.I am not so sure about Bont Customer Service though. I emailed them with a pre-purchase question and they never replied to my email.

Love these. Skating was my favorite childhood hobby; decades later I’ve started to enjoy it again.I did a lot of research before purchasing. I ended up buying Moxi Lollys, Reidell Crews & these to compare. I decided on these. The Lollys were cute and very comfortable (I especially loved the lined tongue & the gummy wheels), but they were $60 more. Plus, I thought the Bonts felt more supportive and I liked feeling lower to the ground in the Bonts. The Reidells were just uncomfortable.I plan to skate mostly outdoors, so will probably reorder from the manufacturer’s website where I can specify 78A wheels. These ship with the Street Flow wheels which are, I think, 89A. Otherwise they’re perfect for me!I will say that I needed to size down a full 2/2.5 sizes! I wear a women’s 7.5-8 shoe, but have a somewhat narrow foot. I originally ordered the 6 based on Bont’s size chart. The heels fit well, but my feet were swimming in the toe box. The 5.5 is very snug in the heel, but I think heat molding will help with that. Overall, the 5.5 fit much better.I should add that I worried I might not like these based on looks alone. People rave about how they love the look, but the photos I saw did not appeal to me at all. Luckily, I found them to be much cuter on! So, if aesthetics are the only thing holding you back, I’d say give them a try!

These are so comfy! They feel very different than my Suregrip and my Ridells and my Candi Girl skates. Definitely easier to go fast and do simple spins and to get around in. My Suregrips are so my favorite for drills and learning things like grapevine and the downtown but I'm learning how to maneuver in these almost the same. They are so so comfortable and worth every penny. Love!!
