I honestly am not sure what I was expecting. At first I thought I would be saving myself time and money by grabbing this for my book stitching hobby. I was gravely mistaken, this book press has many issues from needing to have the plates a certain way (no instructions or way to tell which way) in order to even be usable. To the wood splintering easily if you manage to put the wooden plates on upside down. Had to go get metal inserts to prevent sticking and upgrade the bolts themselves after so they fit in the newly resized holes could have just built one myself for the time and money spent to make this work.

If you are binding notebooks or anything that uses full pages do not buy this. The dimensions listed are from edge to edge not usable press area. The hole placement takes up a little too much press space and full sized sheets of paper will not fit between them.

I don’t know if it was a mistake or not, but my product only came with the 2 boards and nothing else. Look for others that actually come with everything.

The drilled holes are misaligned. Cannot put one of the bolts through one of the corners. The book press is not usable. I requested a replacement, and it never delivered.

I was taken aback my how heavy this press is when I got it! I was expecting something a little wussier feeling honestly. This press is amazing! It feels like it will hold up very well to many uses. It's easy to adjust and the bamboo smells delightful. :)The only thing they could change would be to send some basic instructions as to how to set it up. It just came with 2 pieces of bamboo and a whole baggie of hardware. I had to look at the listing photos to figure out how all the hardware was supposed to be used. Easy to figure out, but would've just been a nice touch to have a set up paper in the box.
