Borgeson has sourced and adapted this brand new massive power steering box for the 2003–2008 Dodge trucks. Similar to Chrysler's offering for the 03-08 Dodger trucks this Borgeson “Dodge Box” offers the largest piston diameter for the most available power assist and a modern variable valve that allows for stable highway driving and effortless parking and maneuvering. Borgeson has adapted the pitman shaft to be compatible with all OEM and dropped pitman arms that fit the stock box.

Was tight initially however after 15k miles, loosened tramatically. Constantly chasing it and definitely don't feel comfortable enough to drive it on icy roads

This product is a complete waste of money, you can get a redhead gear box for less $, have a better warranty, and they are never bad right out of the box.Im a diesel technician and have been for 9yrs now, i went this route because of the reviews and i can honestly say that i wish i wouldnt have bought this. The day of installing the unit, it was nice and tight with No noticeable play. After about 2 months the gear box is the most sloppy gear box ive ever felt. And it also has spots where it hangs up in a way when turning. Now im out a bunch of money and have to buy another gearbox, this time im definitely going to the trusty redhead.Dont waist you money on this gear box....

Steering Box is heavy duty (43 lbs). Working alone, used a floor jack to lift box into place as I wasn't strong enough to hold box while bolting. Purchased Borgeson steering shaft at the same time so didn't need to grind flats on stub shaft. Four inches of slop before, improved to 1-1/4" after installation. Heads up: Two piece firewall boot separated during removal of old steering shaft as pulled out from below. Re-installed outer boot over new shaft from below.

Well worth the money! I got this unit with a new Moog pitman and Borgeson steering shaft. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! I spent a pile of time reviewing various steering upgrades. I looked at Redhead, Mopar, remans, etc. I chose this setup for the following reasons: 1) same price as a full redhead replacement box, but 3 year warranty. 2) option to get a new steering shaft with u joints, not rag joints. 3) NOT a reman or Mopar factory box.I do not know the longevity yet [been on for 6 weeks]. I do love that the truck drives like a new dually [05 3500 slt quad cab 4x4 5.9 cummins auto] even with 33" muds. All bumpsteer is gone, no rag joint bind.Something to note-might just be my truck: when the old box was removed [wasn't a factory box] the bolts weren't able to be reused, their diameter was 10MM not 14MM as from the factory. Mopar does not make or sell the factory bolts, so ended up with E7 threaded rod [grade 7] and welded nuts on to make my own bolts. I do plan to get some from a salvage yard local when they become available-but if anyone else has this problem, this is a good solution.

I installed this unit into my sons 2006 dodge w/195000 miles on it. it was a bolt in swap. the only thing I would do differently is to get the orings for the hoses, 1 split on removal. The box is very tight and was easy to set up. One word of caution, take your seatbelt and run it around the steering wheel so it cannot turn while installing the gear. We also installed the 951 Borgeson shaft at the same time. The truck steers like new!

Had to grind out 2 grooves in order too fit on to the steering shaft. I Googled the instructions for this model number and in large print first thing on the page it tells you to grind grooves for my truck. Should have had that in the description or put the instructions in box. Works great though. This thing is a freaking beast compared to the stock box. So much better.
