I purchased this exhaust for my 2007 GX470, upon learning that the 5th gen 4Runner and 4th gen/GX exhausts are pretty similar. It definitely bolted right up to the GX470 midpipe, but I did have to flip, shorten, or lengthen every hanger, and cut 3" off the end of the tailpipe and re-weld the tip on. With those mods it fit great and sounds awesome - super nice low, deep rumble. I have some drone on the highway, but that may be due to the system being optimized for a V6 instead of a V8.The overall system quality was very good. The entire system is 304 SS, including the hangers that are also solid 304 rather than 409 or mild steel (they are non-magnetic). Fit and finish are very good. This system was the same price as a aFe (non-polished 409 SS) and $150 cheaper than a Magnaflow (also just 409 SS and doesn't even include a tip). Pretty happy for the price, just can't see spending $800 on a Magnaflow made out of lower-quality steel.

Great system and really nice sound. Took longer to remove the old system than to install the Borla. 2 of the 14mm bolts were rusted in place, even after liberal soaking with penetrating oil. Even with a 6-point socket, didn't have a good enough angle to remove the bolts without stripping the heads. Loosened everything else to free up the exhaust which gave me enough room cut the pipe. Once the factory exhaust was out I think it took literally maybe 15 minutes to mount the new system. If mounting on an older vehicle, you might want to make sure you have a new exhaust gasket.

It was a pain in the a to install. Did at home alone. factory bolts were a nightmare. Had to cut the factory one out. Pretty easy to install the new one. Looks sharp. Wish they have an optional black tip though. Sounds quite on start and regular driving till you step on it then it sounds good. Not too loud. Also have tune and intake.

The exhaust was relatively easy to install and it took about two hours. The hardest part was getting the bolts from the original exhaust to loosen up. If I could do it over, I would have sprayed the bolts down with WD40 the night before. In addition to the great sound I have noticed a slight increase in gas mileage, especially when I am pulling my boat.

This ALMOST fit. when installed, the exhaust tip rested lightly on the plastic bumper... that doesnt work so i had to carefully bend the back of the tip down. doesnt look bad but is BS since you pay so much for the product. I went on their website and forums to make sure that this model would fit.. other than that, it sounds amazing! after several months its starting to have a little deeper sound. its quiet and hardly noticable unless you get on it. exactly what i wanted for a family vehicle, little extra power but keeps the kids asleep lol

I just installed the Borla on my 2019 4Runner TRD Off-Road Premium and the exhaust tip touches the rear valance. After only running it around the neighborhood it melted the paint off my rear valance which once the paint starts on plastics like these it spreads to the rest of the valance. I would like to be compensated for a new rear valance and suggestions on how to lower the exhaust 1-2 inches or I will be returning this.

It will fit a 2018 4Runner. You will have to have a 1 inch longer tailpipe hanger. Install the hanger before you tighten the rear clamp over the axle.If your looking for sound like from a flowmaster, this isn't going to give you that.I was a bit let down when I heard what it was producing...close to a stock exhaust sound, even with a KN. As far as performance gains, your rear won't feel it in the seat. I have not had it on long enough to see if any MPG are changed.

This exhaust sounds so sweet without being obnoxious. Has nice soft tone on start up, a slight rumble when your on the gas, and at higher rpm it sounds really great. It's doesn't have any drone and doesn't ruin your interior sound quality. Truck should be lifted to install as the tail section has a J bend to it. The tip comes real close to the bumper, but I haven't had any damage due to heat as the tip is double wall construction. Awesome product Borla.
