The plates loom amazing, and they feel quality.It's opal glass, which feels different than ceramic, so you need to get use to the touch.We have a young kid, so the fact they are lead free it's very important to us.We got all the available sizes for the Parma line.Chargers, soup, appetizer and bowl plates.I wish amazon would restock the dinner plates size as well, so that we could complete the full set.

The 6 dishes were layed one on top of the other and the stack was wrapped in bubble wrap. Probably/maybe this would have been ok as the bubble wrap was tightly wrapped,keeping the plates from moving.However,the air filled balloonchain cushioning was on the top of the box and there was no cushioning on the bottom of the box where it would havecushioned against any impact.THe bottom 3 plates were shattered when the bubble wrap was removed.This positioning of the cushioning was clearly observed by me when I opened the box. dont think it was possible for it to have moved from the bottom to the top by the movement of the box.I think it was probably packed like that.I bought the Bormioli Rocco cafe glasses and different size storage jars and they are of tasteful design and sturdy and I love them.I expected a little less flimsy thickness on the plates.

I never thought I could love dinnerware so much! These plates are incredibly durable, clean easily and are perfectly sized for a light dinner. I use them every day. With limited cupboard space I appreciate how compact they stack too. The slightly organic shape and modern aesthetic reminds me of West Elm, but these are sooooo much nicer quality.

I wanted a set of small plates but didn't want to pay a lot, and I ended up finding this set and am happy with them. It's true that they are thin and don't stack completely straight, but that's not a deal-breaker for me. If you need a small plate for a snack or dessert, then I'd recommend this set.

Bought these dishes based on the reviews and I'm pretty happy with them. I, too, have a set of Simple Lines dinnerware and have been looking for matching dessert dishes at a reasonable price. Corelle makes a similar plate that is smaller, and would have been my preference, but they are very pricey. At half the price for 6 dishes (instead of 4), these will do the job. Just slightly heavier than the Corelle plates, but a good match. They aren't the exact same material and are a tiny bit shinier. I used one today in the microwave - it did get a little hot, but cooled very quickly. These are perfect for sandwiches, salads, small meals and dessert. I'm sure I will use them daily. Thanks, Bormioli! Additional comment, Februrary 2016. Just wanted to add that I've been using these plates now for over a year and I love them. None have chipped or broken; they are dishwasher safe, and a perfect size for almost everything. I use them every day and barely use my other plates at all.

I love these plates. We have larger "dinner" plates but I found that we were filling those plates and finishing them off regularly which was adding to our waistlines. These plates are the perfect size for appropriate portions. Now after dinner there is no more bloated tired feeling and we have more energy to play with the kiddo and get active rather than just laying on the couch in a food coma. Super durable and lightweight. They are not all exactly the same shape, but that really doesn't bother me. Totally satisfied with this purchase.

We have the dinner plates, dessert plates, salad bowls, and the salad plates, as well as the really cool glasses from Bormioli Rocco with the indentations. None of the plates has chipped, broken, or scratched. They hold up great to the dishwasher and various sponges for washing by hand. We loved them so much, we bought an extra set of dinner plates, dessert plates, and both types of glasses. We are set for many years unless we break one via user error.

We bought these plates as an inexpensive set to use for desserts while entertaining. They have proven to be very durable, surviving many a drop or bump off the table.
