Works good on my 2001 Tdi Jetta ALH. Made the car feel new again, to check if your MAF needs replacing, simply unplug the old MAF and see how the car drives..If your car drives better with the MAF unplugged, it needs replacing. If it drives worse, your MAF is still working properly.

While the sensor looks undamaged, the parts box looked crushed ripped & taped back in pieces. I hope this works fine when needed. I ordered this as a spare for my 2000 T.D.I. Jetta.

I bought this to try and fix a flat spot in the acceleration of my 2002 VW Jetta TDI 1.9L wagon. The flat spot for me was just past 3,000 rpm's, primarily in 3rd & 4th gear, but sometimes in 2nd as well. No engine light was shown, but clearly, the MAF was going out, because after replacement, all is well again! This flat spot became evident after I replaced all my vacuum lines and replaced the N75 solenoid, trying to fix an overboost check engine light, and resulting limp mode. This flat spot loss of power was the only remnant from my turbo work, and I HAD tried to clean the MAF before replacing it. Cleaning the old one using ispropyl alcohol and q tips didn't help at all.As a heads up, this appears to be a redesigned housing for the MAF, as inside the tube looked significantly different than the old one. In the pics below, the one with the little tube inside the tube is the new one. The one with just the MAF sensor jutting into the open tube is the old one. I checked the part number on idparts.com to verify, this is the SAME part they sell, and IS the MAF for an ALH VW TDI engine.Fantastic product at a great price. I couldn't be happier that my car is back to normal!

dealer told me i needed a new turbo, watched a you tube video and they had me disconnect the MAF to test it - thought I had a new car! Replaced the MAF and car now works great!

This is the latest revision of this part for the ALH engine. This is why it looks different on the inlet and outlet screens. It fits perfectly and should last longer. It restored power and after three starts, the check engine light went out. Third gear rubber again! On dry pavement. Not stock.

My wife's '03 Golf was suffering from the the triumvirate of low power: seized turbo actuator lever, leaky vacuum hoses and a bad MAF. The power loss was gradual over the years.Soaked the turbo in oven cleaner and actuated the lever manually to free it up, and replaced vacuum hoses in the summer. In the fall, I graphed out the MAF actual vs. MAF expected in VCDS and found she also needed a new air flow sensor.Dealership wanted $142 but the original Bosch part was available here on Amazon for $117. AWESOME. Her car has now got pep back in its step. Definitely worth the buy.

I was able to switch out the sensor myself within about five minutes. I chose this Bosch piece over other cheaper sensors with mixed reviews to try to get a quality part for my 2002 Jetta TDI after the original MAF sensor called it quits.I was skeptical about the reviews saying it made the engine run better but after switching it out I can agree with them. It's nothing major but I can notice the engine revving higher and pulling ever so slightly harder passing other cars on the interstate. Time will tell if it even affects my MPG for the better by a few miles. I'm glad I spent the extra $30-40 to get a quality part and get my engine back up to 100%...if not a little more.

I noticed a gradual loss of power in my 2001 NB TDI over some months. I suspected my EGR and/or turbo to be clogged with soot. While reading on some TDI forums, I was advised to unplug the MAF sensor and see if the cars performance improved, which it did. In addition I was advised to purchase this revision "C" sensor which is an improvement over the original sensor for my year model. After installing this sensor my car has dramatically improved throttle response and power. With the previous sensor, my fuel economy has averaged 46.5 for over 2 years. I managed 49.3 with the sensor unplugged. With the new sensor, performance is even better still, and I expect to achieve 50+ mpg on my next fillup.
