I bought this Bosch sticking with the OE design alternator. The alternator doesn’t put out enough voltage to charge my BMW 530 battery. It arrived on May18, I installed the alternator the same day. but only getting 12.7 volts to the battery.I also noticed that there is no Bosch stamp on the alternator like the original one.

Just finished installing this on the 2002 BMW E39. BMW makes it hard to get to the alternator but after installing it problem with battery not charging was solved.

So happy with this purchase. A NEW Bosch alternator for less than the price of a re-manned! WOWWorks perfectly on our ranch workhorse 2002 X5 with the M54 engine. Been driving it for about 6 months post DIY install and all is well on the battery front!

Surprisingly, this new alternator costs less than remanufctured on other websites or autozone. I was afraid that it wouldn’t fit my 2004 325xi because I had Valeo alternator. But I was glad to be able to replace it to the Bosch without any modification.I will see how long it will last.

Worked perfect on my 2002 e46......factory alternator was a Valeo---this Bosch bolted up AND connected electrically with NO Modifications....once you get the fan clutch & shroud removed very straight forward IMO....I'm a retired auto tech and repair shop owner but this should be easy for most DIYers.....
