Used this to install holes in my car so i could run cables for my laser defense system. I was using normal metal bits which left sharp edges and i needed a larger hole. It cut right into the pilot hole i drilled and it left a smooth edge on both side so i didnt have to worry about the metal edge cutting the cabling. I used it to cut the exterior and interior holes. Right through the car's metal like butter.

I work in the HVAC and electrical field. I've had this bit on my truck for a full year now and have only used it for light work (aluminum and very thin sheet metal), the first time I used it to drill through a steel electrical box it didn't last through the cut.

Unlike the Bosch tool set I recently reviewed, these step drill bits are well and thoughtfully made. Ground with precision from solid high speed steel, markings laser etched, areas which do not cut chamfered. They aren't made in the PRC, which goes a long way to explain why they are quality tools, as the Swiss (where they are made) insist on nothing less than perfection.BUY

Wow! Cuts holes through heavy gauge sheet metal like a hot knife through butter.The ability to withstand impact action is a bonus. Typically excellent Bosch quality. Get a set!
