Note the picture makes it look like it is a SDS drive and it is not!Read the intire add to make sure you are getting what you need! Not sure why the make plain shank bits anymore as no one uses them.

Exactly as expected. Did the job in short order and lasted the entire job, with still more life left. We must have cut through at least 20 rebar. Would purchase again.

Great bit for small jobs. We used it to drill holes in our pool deck. Cut right through the rebar WITHOUT a hammer drill. The bit lasted for all four holes, but is pretty shot. Excellent tool for the application.

Got my bit yesterday. I had a total of 5 holes to make... it made it through 3 pretty well. However, by the fourth hole I noticed it was taking much longer to cut through the rebar. I was not even able to get through the 5th one. I may have been running the drill at to high of a speed as one of the other reviewers mentioned to run it slow and have good feed pressure. As another poster mentioned. Mine wobbles pretty badly at this point. I just cant recall if that happened right out of the box.Two stars because it did manage to cut through rebar but seemed to have dulled prematurely, so I'm left to figure something else out with the last hole I need to drill.

They were Bent at the shank out of the package both of them one not as bad as the other we couldn't shut the job down so we used them they lasted about 6 maybe 8 holes before they were useless

Every one said that the only way to get through rebar was to grind or cut with a torch! No so. The Bosch rebar cutter goes right through rebar. I had to put some bolts through a pipe that had rebar inside. No matter how new or sharp my drill bits were the only thing that happened when I would try to cut though the rebar was that the bits would become very dull and very polished on the end. The Bosch rebar cutter cut through with great speed and showed no signs of dulling even after many, many uses!

I needed this for a project that my son was working on. The contractor who poured the concrete had some rebar installed about 4-5 inches below the surface of the concrete, we used a magnet on a stick to verify that it was a rebar. This made placing the anchors too close to the surface so when I looked for something to remedy this problem, I came across what I believed to be the solution, something that could cut through the rebar so that the anchors could be installed at the required depth of 6 inches. We found only 2 holes out of 15 that had the rebar problem, so when we found our first hole after receiving the new rebar cutter, we followed all the required directions and used a standard, variable speed drill, taking it slow and easy. When I pulled the drill out of the hole, to my surprise, 4 of the 6 cutting teeth on the bit were gone. We placed a magnet down the hole to pull out some of the teeth that broke off. Yes, it did cut through the rebar, but using one cutter for one hole gets to be rather expensive, so we sat it aside and resorted to using a hammer-drill on the other anchor positions that were clear of the rebar. I don't think that I will be ordering another rebar cutter of this design unless I can be assured that it will work without breaking apart.
