I'd recommend this bowl for a beginner. It is hand beaten and the tone lasts a long time. But it is not the best made bowl in the world. Mine came with a little jagged spot in the rim and there are a few dents that are a little too deep. This makes it a little harder to circle with your mallet for vibration. The feminine tone at the top end of the note is a bit ear piercing, so I strike low on the bowl. I can get it to sing very nicely though once I get it going. And it gets quite loud. Overall you get what you pay for. For a $50 hand beaten bowl this is decent. I wouldn't use it while working with a client but for myself at home and to practice with, absolutely.

It seems small for a G note bowl, but whatever sound it's making is beautiful and relaxing. You'll love it.

I purchased this item because of it's beauty in the picture/description provided by the seller on this listing. When I received the item I was disappointed when the mallet/striker, they sent was totally different, and had leather on it. I'm Vegan, and don't buy leather products of any kind. When I reached out to the seller explaining my beliefs, and why I purchased from them specifically they responded with 'mallets and cushions may vary as per availability of stock.' I checked the listing again to see if that was stated, but couldn't find that statement anywhere. Reached out to them again, and here is their response, 'colour of mallets may vary'. Third, and last email response from the seller was 'In case you are not satisfied please return items for refund.' That of course would require an expensive return shipping cost out of my own pocket. Their lack of compassion along with their ethics is disappointing to say the least.

There isn't much to not like about this bowl, the sound is amazing, and it vibrates for a long time. Highly recommend especially when you get a cushion and striker.

Beautiful little bowl with a nice deeper ring. It sings, and I’ve returned a lot that don’t! But the sound resonates for an incredible time for such a small bell. Definitely recommend.
