We had a 20+ year old lamp that could not be replaced and all it needed was a new base. This base was slightly thicker (about 1 inch) than the original (about 1/2 inch), but once painted the right green color, was all we needed to fix the lamp. There are holes for the cord to fit thru and an indentation for the cord as well so we did not need to add any feet to the bottom of the lamp. We did glue some dollar store felt to the bottom once the lamp was put back together again.

Wonderful for updating a 1950s Van Briggle lamp. Along with other wooden parts, I've saved a beloved lamp from going to the thrift store.

Use these a a base for some of my lamp sculptures. I add wooden feet ( risers) for easy lifting. Nicely done holes for the rod & cord. The wood quality is always good/ well sanded - easy to stain & varnish
