Had my neighbor who is an electrician install this plug, bad news it must have been a bad product the circuit blew plus the plug also blew out within the plastic housing Beware

Poor design, no instructions, did not work. I ended up throwing it I. The trash and purchasing a full cord and plug at Lowes

I was suspect of this based on many sub-par reviews. My experience however was excellent. The plug worked perfectly as advertised. I followed exact instructions provided by other reviewers since none came with the product itself (which is ridiculous).

This product comes with no instructions and since this is Amazon and not a hardware store, it should. You simply cut the end of the cord flush, DO NOT expose the wires, leave the insulation intact. There are 2 parts: the prongs and the base. The prongs pull apart to allow for insertion of the cord into the opening in the center. After you've cut the cord flush, FIRST feed the cord through the bottom of the base piece and SECOND, with the prongs spread outward, feed the cord into the center opening of the prongs piece. Push the cord all of the way in, until it can't go any further. Squeeze the prongs back to center. The metal will penetrate the insulation to make contact with the wires and create your circuit. I tested the prongs first, to make sure it worked and then pushed the prong piece into the base as it's not so easy to remove once you'ce inserted it into the base. So easy!

There were no instructions but with common sense it was easy. I found it worked just as expected. Quick, easy, just a little costly. That being said I’d buy it again.

These were easy to install and look very much like the original plug on my lamps. Just be sure you get the metal contact points fully seated in the cord for a good connection.
