This tool set has everything I need to work on my own brakes - although I only need 1-2 size piston push plates - its good to have a set that covers a variety of auto makers[update 8/25]I finally got to use it on my 2004 Toyota Sequoia. The provided plate for Toyota sort of fits onto the piston but the circle edge just barely goes on and it got stuck onto the piston and I had to pry it off - not a big deal but this got me worried for the second setSo I ended up using a flat circle plate which worked just as wellAlso, instructions stated to use the hand turn bar but I found that hard to turn since you need to use it with one of the tiny pole and there’s hardly and leverage with thatI just use pliers and turned it that way - much easierIf I had a large enough socket wrench - that would have been even betterHowever, this tool saved me a lot of time and effort going to the auto store to ‘rent’ a brake set

Last month I had to send my wife's Outback in for rear brakes...and that totally annoyed me. Why? Well when you're the type of person that fixes, repairs, builds, and maintains EVERYTHING, having to pay someone to do something you should be able to do simply because you don't have a particular too is maddening. If there is one thing I cannot stand on modern cars it's those stupid twist type brake calipers...yup...her outback has them. So instead of me being able to just plop down $50 for pads, I had to fork over another $120 to the dealership to put them in for me. Makes me sick. Now, it doesn't matter what ridiculously stupid caliper is on what kind of car, I will be able to compress them and install my own pads without getting reamed by the dealer. Oh...and this works great on conventional 1,2, and 4 piston style calipers too. So so long to those over sized C-Clamps.

This is a really nice comprehensive caliper compression tool set. I recently did a brake job on my sons car and went the route of using a C-clamp like I've done in the past. Unfortunately, the caliper piston was compressing very easily and I ended up damaging it which resulted in needing to replace the caliper in addition to the rotors and pads. I don't want to run into that issue again, and with this set I won't! This has everything you need to handle all the different style calipers out there today. Also comes in a nice carrying case.
