The amount of money one can save on changing brakes themselves adds up to a good bit over the lifetime of an average vehicle. With the proper tools it takes little time and effort. Brake caliper wrenches are vital to this and this set does exactly what it should. The ratcheting action is smooth and releases quick and cleanly as well. They quickly adjust to allow for easy dilation to fit them within the calipers. A few effortless clicks and the calipers are set to fit over your new brakes. They feel well built and you won't use them very frequently, so it is likely these will last you a lifetime.Changing your brakes yourself one time will allow these to pay for themselves more than once over. Time is money and these also make the job much quicker. This alleviates the need to drive to a shop, rent your own, or struggle with the dreaded "c-clamp" method. Pick up a pair today.

This is a much more heavy duty way of compressing calipers than the c-clamp or some other compression methods. I did on occasion find that though the ratchet mechanism worked, it wouldn't always return to the home position and would spin backwards and not ratchet. The overall build quality is very good. The s-hooks are an extremely useful addition to the kit for hanging calipers that make for an easy job.
Yup, I'll review it!

I got this tool because of the occasional brake job that needs to get done on my vehicles. It certainly is easier that the old C-clamp method. I am also happy that it came with the S-hooks; now I don't have to use plastic shopping bags to tie up my calipers. Everything seems to work well. I did have to remove one star because the rivet holding the directional selector lever on is loose. It was easy enough to tap it tighter with a ball peen hammer, but it does call into question the longevity of this tool. Still, for the DIY mechanic, it is a nice addition to the tool box.

I've changed a lot of brakes on my vehicles over the years, but haven't had a tool to compress the calipers until now. Usually I just use a combination of some small, flat metal (sometimes old brake pads) in combination with a screwing clamp. This is not always super convenient or easy, so having a tool designed for this job is nice. The hooks feel more than strong enough to support even larger calipers while they're off the rotors. The metal of the tool itself feels strong and durable and capable of applying plenty of pressure to depress the calipers. I like the design to fit inside the caliper rather than relying on pressure on the outside.I'm looking forward to making good use of this tool for my next brake change in a few months and expect it'll work well.

Nice quality spreader and hooks. I wish the spreader had a way for it to stay locked in line together, but I think they can extend to 6/8 piston spreaders with an extension thru the manufacturer. My only gripe is the cheap ratchet mechanism which is hard to flip the reverse lever on. Other than that it does the job for 4 piston and split brembo calipers well.

This brake caliper compression tool set by PHONGLEO is well built and easy to use. Included in the set is the rachet tool, two compression plates, and two hooks to hang the caliper body on to prevent damage to brake lines. The ratchet is crisp and concise in operation and when switching directions. The rubber coated handle helps provide a firm grip. The two outer compression plates are removable if needed.(This tool is not for use with calipers that require you to compress and turn the piston at the same time.)This caliper compressor tool replaces using large channel locks or vice grips and is a much more convenient and safer way to do the job. The tool performs well and is a great item to have in you collection. I am happy all around and can easily rate it at 5 stars.

As someone who always used a C-clamp to compress the pistons, I can't believe this tool has never appeared on my radar until recently. It's so much faster and easier to use than those screw-type compressors! The plates are rock-solid. The ratchet mechanism works well for both expansion and retraction, as long as it is under load. The long handle offers good leverage, while the included caliper suspension hooks are very handy.I would much rather lug this single tool around than a full kit of screw-type caliper tools.

Honestly, it works pretty well. This little guy is surprisingly solid considering the aggressive pricing (at the time of review).Handle is your basic dip, nothing fancy, but that's my preference anyways so it's a win for me there. It's got some mass, clocking in at 1.698 lbs (~1.7 lbs) on my scale and I don't see any plastic involved, especially where it matters.Ratcheting mechanism feels solid in both directions as well.If you've got plastic housings that would prevent the use of a c-clamp for compressing the piston this thing does it and won't damage the assembly in the process.
