This is the second time I’ve had to use these and they work perfect. I have two bicycles with Shram brakes both have had the same problem. If buying a new bicycle didn’t come with then I wouldn’t need to purchase these. So if your brake levers are sluggish to return, replace this plunger and they will snap back

Replaced pistons in SRAM Level TL brakes, both levers. No problem. Brakes functioning back to normal after a complete bleed. Hopefully they last longer than the original junk. Highly recommend.

A bit of a challenge to replace, recessed snap ring, but once replaced, breaks are buttery smooth. Kept my SRAM breaks out of the trash.

This fixed my CODE R stuck lever. FYI if your lever moves freely but can’t push fluid for a bleed, back off the reach adjustment towards the bar a few turns. Fluid might not flow if it’s all the way out

This kit was easy to install and worked fantastic. Much better than the plastic piston which swells and deforms. Both frt and rr brake levers stopped returning, reading it’s very common and most people replace complete assemblies when not needed $$$.Wished I’d I purchased a kit for the rear (same part #) instead of a new master cylinder $$$ before finding this part because both repairs provided the same result!

Fits perfectly and works great. Make sure you order the right part. Measure the length of your original.

They do what is advertised, fixed my sticky piston issue, brake felt brand-new smooth afterward. Can confirm they fit level ults from ~2015-2016. Have to dock star for one piston coming with the seals cut (and unusable) but I was planning to re-use my seals anyway so NBD. Will be buying again to fix other bike with sticky guide RS's.

I measured this compared to OEM and it is exactly .5cm too short. The nub inside the spring is where it is too short. It's important because the same spot on the OEM piston goes all the way to the end of the chamber with the lever fully depressed. This might work, but I suspect a longer throw to engage full brakes and there is definitely a gap with this piston fully depressed. Overall the quality of construction was excellent, but you need to make it longer. In the picture, the nub appears to be .5cm longer than what I received.

If you have SRAM Guide brakes and have experienced a frozen piston, this is the fix. If you didn't know, SRAM Guide brakes are a serious advantage over other products. I swear by them because they have a wide range of pressure one can apply to braking force.SRAM Guide brakes have a known defect. The original piston is made of plastic. It swells when it gets hot, which causes the pistons to freeze. On my brakes, this happens when the temperature is over 70f, or when they are used a lot in a session. I heard that swapping out the plastic with aluminum is the fix. I got this product. I installed it. Obviously, I know a little about fixing bikes. After installation, I put my Trek Remedy 8 down several trails, over several days. If this product did not work, then I believe my review would be from a hospital bed rather than from my living room. Thumbs up on this product.

These worked like a charm to fix my non-returning levers. SRAM should really be ashamed of themselves for selling the piece of junk plastic plungers that expand and jam in even moderate heat. There is plenty of Youtube videos showing how to disassemble and install new plungers. After a brake bleed my levers feel fantastic and have operated flawless even in 41C heat we just had in Vancouver, BC. WORD TO THE WISE, Get a good pair of narrow, small tipped snap ring pliers before you attempt this service.

I have SRAM LEVEL TL brakes on a 2019 Devinci Django. Brakes levers started sticking and not returning to their original position. Was really bad in hot weather. LBS confirmed they are part of the piston design issue and offered to send them back to SRAM for a rebuild. I would loose the bike for 2-3 weeks in prime riding season so I opted to get these and do it myself. Perfect replacement for the front lever, same exact piston shape and length. The rear brake lever is different. It has a stealth-a-majig system that allows the LBS to shorten the hose without needing to bleed the system. This setup has a different piston, that is a little shorter on the spring side, spring is a little shorter and has a red check valve at the end where it will meet the hose olive and barb. I went ahead and swapped the piston anyway, and I was able to reassemble everything. After refilling the system and bleeding, it seems to be working fine. This is after a few runs on the street mind you, I still need to take out on the trail. I would not cut the piston for LEVEL levers, since it doesn't seem to affect lever travel or anything like that.
