Apparently, I did not read it correctly. I thought it was gonna be an actual corn dog maker, but it’s a mini corndog maker probably exactly what it says. It works fine. I was just looking at it. It looked like it was gonna be bigger than what it was my fault.

I honestly wasn't expecting much from this for 30 bucks. At the very least, it'd help me learn how a machine like this works, right?lol noBased on this machine, the recipes in the book don't work. I tried completely different recipes, thinking maybe there was a typo. I wanted to make mini sausage pancake dogs.I tested the cooking times, amount of butter, and batter thickness:Thick to watery.1 whole stick of butter to 1/4 stick of butter.3 minutes, 5 minutes, 7 minutes, 9 minutes (yes, I left them in THAT long). It doesn't matter - the middle remains almost raw (even when I cook JUST the batter to make pancake sticks), and the outside never got past medium brown. The red cycles aren't long enough, or consistent enough. It is impossible to have a "real" corn dog, even after pouring batter on top, because the machine doesn't cook the batter in a way that allows it to expand into the top mold. It only goes to the height that I poured it.It's a good thing I used pre-cooked sausage, or else I could have risked food poisoning. Absolutely ridiculous.I also found it challenging to clean if batter or butter got into the hinges or at the edges of the plates (due to my pouring more batter in an attempt to get it to expand into a corn dog).I'm going to a restaurant supply store where I will spend almost 10 times as much to get the real thing. This product is just a toy. You get what you pay for.

I am kinda sorry I purchased this. I bought it to use when my grandchildren come. I tried it out and found the recipes are good but next time I would not use sticks. They were too cumbersome to use in this machine. I will try to make different recipes and see if I like it more. I gave it 3 stars because I don't think it's the most useful product in the kitchen.

Our first try was using thick Veggie dogs. The directions show to put one layer of batter, hotdog, then close cover & it’s supposed to come up over. The batter was only on one side, but they were still very good. It’s a keeper! We will try next with sausages & regular size dogs & they’ll be perfect. We used a pancake batter squirt bottle to make adding batter easy. Much simpler than trying to spoon it out.

I had fun with this using cocktail hotdogs and pancake batter. Wanted a waffle-like mold but it's fine, it's just for aesthetics. It was good until it lasted as I accidentally dropped it and it dislocated very easily. End of story. :(

I must have been late on the trend, but I have fallen in love with Korean-style hot dogs. If you aren't familiar with them, Korean hot dogs are made in the style of corn dogs, but with glutinous rice flour for a sticky batter and are even sometimes rolled in sugar for an awesome sweet/savory taste. I followed directions to make the hot dog and fried them (the usual way), but really wanted to make them healthier (so we could eat more of them, LOL). I found that as long as you used a good amount of cooking spray, the batter wouldn't stick and you'd have a firm, healthy, and most of all, super tasty Korean hot dog! I used different fillings like vegetarian sausage and mozzarella (like Hot Dog on a Stick), and they were all a great success.

I like everything about this product, easy to clean, bakes perfect, and quick, and if there are any leftovers, easy to reheat in the microwave. Love the mini, good for the Ecrich smokey link's and jiffy corn bread mix. now on to the full size one, thank's for a great product Nicky
