About this item

  • Brew In A Bag Straining Bag
  • Nylon Straining Bag
  • 26 x 26

This is a mesh bag that is large enough to conform to the inside diameter of the kettle and REACH over the top lip. This bag is sometimes likened to a large pillow case, the kettle should be ABLE to fit inside it while still being ABLE to close the top of the bag. Composed of mesh Material, this will hold your grain bill and must be strong enough to hold the water saturated grain when you lift it out of the mash water at the end of the mash.

I only used it once and it already shows small tears in the fabric. Beware if you catch it on anything in your kettle, like a thermowell or through hull. It will tear easily. And, unlike most BIAB bags, it has no draw string. My old bag had survived many brews in better shape than this one after a single brew.

Just made my first batch of cider in the cider press I built. These bags worked very well, and they are durable and easy to wash and reuse.

I was surprised how much i liked this straining bag, perfect size, and strong. Holds up well so far in pressings.

meh, i was at first excited to get this because i enjoy BIAB home brewing. It's ok, i'm about 4 batches in using this bag and it's starting to show signs of wear, small holes poking around. For now that's OK because i still use a bazooka screen, but i was kind of hoping it would have lasted a little longer.

I've used this for three different 5 gallon BIAB batches now. I think the largest grain bill it has held was around 18lbs! It's definitely sturdy and I think it has performed well through reuse. I will probably get many more batches out of this before I buy a new one.To clean: empty as much grains a possible, shake it out if you're somewhere you don't mind getting stray grains/husks, in a bucket of water, turn inside out and rub together/ swish around in the water, give it a quick go in your oxyclean solution, rinse, hang dry, brush off the remaining husks after it dries. It's more complicated to type that than it is to do :-)

No signs of ripping or tearing after 12 brews, most pounds I put into this bag was about 16 lbs and worked very well. Easy to clean and did not stain even on my stout days. Will definitely buy again, and I use it for mash in a bag with a home depot orange 10Gallons cooler.

My bag said 24x26, not 26x26. It still fit my pot so it didn't matter to me but some people it might. It worked perfectly for my first brew, held 11lbs of grain perfectly fine.

THis is a very nice bag for the money, but is not a true BIAB because the mesh is not fine enough. Still could be used in a pinch. But a real Biab is made of viole fabric, like a thin pillow case or veil so that grains can be crushed ultra thin. That said, the bag is easily big enough for an 11 gallon pot and still fold over rim.
