This is a heavy duty sail pole. I Used a different lighter brand before and it bent a bit due to the weight and pull of the sail. I have a sail plus string lights attached to this one and it is holding up well.

This has lasted a full season and its working great. My fear was that something this inexpensive would stretch out and then flap around in the wind. However this did not happen.It is semi-permiable so the rain drips through it but it limits the amount of rain that percolates through so that in a heavy rain it might hold up a couple of liters of water.

This pole is fairly sturdy when all the pieces are put together. It was easy assembling it which only took a few minutes. I did need a mallet for a couple of sections as they didn't want to go together all the way, but that wasn't an issue with a little mallet persuasion. When they are pushed together there is hardly any play between the different pieces. Holds my triangular 20'x20'x20' sunshade nicely and keeps it taunt.
