These are great gifts because you can add sets to build onto. My grandsons love the Brio sets.

This was an addition to our grossly large set of Brio trains and it was a good value for the pieces we received. The unique cargo ship is cool too as it adds more carrying capacity than typical single pieces. The lifting bridge is neat too and easy for a toddler to operate and assemble on his own.

This goes nicely with the BRIO train sets I've gifted this 3-year-old. He was very excited to receive this and it is a wonderful addition to his collection. He can put it together. We keep the boxes the items come in as they show HOW TO set up this scenario. Quality pieces for pretend play! I'm so pleased that I chose BRIO! He loves them. He can use them himself and I can see how it is a positive toy for him.

Great set. Train is the reason it got moved to 5 stars.Major pieces:-Boat: not huge, but will crafted and two huge cargo bays. Doors open easily when taking out cargo-Electric train: this was a huge bonus. It really changed how my little one engaged with the brio set. That said, the mighty engine (by brio), which I bought later, is a better engine. This train is slow, but it can still pulls 2-3 trains up a hill.-Box car: pretty cool design. It has metal to hold the doors in place. It feels quite sturdy.-Draw Bridge: haven't had issue wit it shifting. It is well constructed. We don't use it much though. Tend to prefer elevation changes.

This set fits most brands of wooden trains. My son loves this. It came with a cargo ship, cargo, a draw bridge, wooden tracks, a battery operated train , and a magnet crane. The price was great for what all you got. This is entertaining and fun for hours. He really likes the battery train and magnetic crane. This is the best accessory set I have ever bought for his wooden train collection. Highly recommend. Don't forget batteries when you buy this because the train is a great addition.

Great product. My son saw this draw bridge on a YouTube video and kept saying he wanted it. I was able to quickly find it on Amazon and get it for Christmas. The set includes a nice set of trains, ship with magnetic cargo, and a magnetic lifting crane and of course the fun drawbridge which also has a gate to stop the trains while the bridge is lifting. Toddlers seem to love magnets! Lots of room for imagination with this set. Great design and quality. Very happy with the quality Brio seems to offer.

This is a fantastic toy and will continue to be for years to come. There are so many parts for your child to play with. So happy I bought this for my boat and train mad son. What's great about this is it is stand alone, ie you could buy this and there are some pieces of track with it, although it is better if you have some track already. My 3 year old and I love the magnetic cargo that the crane can raise and lower into the ships hold. So sturdy and well crafted. You won't regret buying this.

This is a quality addition to our mixed-brand wooden train set (Thomas, Jesse's Toy Box, Bigjigs, Right Track, Orbrium, Maxim). This set includes several pieces of track, a crane/track hybrid piece that has a magnet to pick up the cargo pieces (and other magnetized pieces in the Brio line), a 2-piece bridge that uses a knob to raise and lower one side, a ship with two compartments for the cargo pieces, a battery-operated engine, a boxcar that holds one of the cargo pieces, and the two cargo pieces that each have a magnet at the top so they can be picked up by the crane. All of the pieces seem pretty sturdy, even the crane that is operated by turning a knob that lowers and raises a string attached to the end of the crane. My only complaint is that button that turns the electric engine on and off is a bit difficult for our son - it is nearly flush with the top of the train. However, the set is rated for 3yrs+, and our son is only 21 months, so I don't think this would be a problem for an older child. Our son especially loves the magnetic crane - it is set up so that you can move the cargo pieces (the set comes with two) between the boxcar and the ship. The boxcar only has room for one cargo piece, while the ship has room for two. Overall I am quite pleased with this set. All pieces seem sturdy enough to withstand our curious nearly-2 year old, though I will definitely be keeping an eye on him with the small cargo pieces, as these could be a choking hazard (again, this set is rated for 3yrs+, so it is not actually a ding against this set, since our son is over a year younger than the rated starting age). This was our son's first electric engine, and he is just fascinated with watching it go around the track!

Nice little set. Works perfect as addition to larger layout. My only complaint is I wish they'd gone ahead and included two cargo cars so you could carry both cargos on the train at once. The box car is cool, but two flatbeds would have been better IMO. I also prefer the wooden cargo (like what comes with the 'Freight Goods Station') better, but the good news is those are actually compatible with the ship.At first I worried that my son might break the little hold doors on the ship, but they've proven to be sturdier than they look. The ship has turned out be one of his favorite pieces.
