I have tried a few different designs by BRITA and this one by far is the best design. Why? Easy to load the filter, filter indicator works, handle solid color (not clear) so doesn't fog up, super easy to take apart and clean. It looks great and is always at the ready to fill our coffee and tea pots - easily fills a 12 cup decanter. I have another one that has lasted 4 years so far and still looks great and works great. Now we have 2 - one for coffee, one for tea! I m8ight get another for the fridge with summer coming! It really does make a difference in how our water tastes - we have town water and old house pipes. So glad to have found this solution to not so great tasting tap water straight out of the tap.

LLEGÓ EN BUENAS CONDICIONES Y EN UN DÍA. LA JARRA VENÍA EN SU EMPAQUE ORIGINAL (CON TERMOENCOGIBLE), PERO LA CAJA QUE LO RESGUARDABA ESTABA GRANDE Y EL PRODUCTO SE NOTABA QUE QUEDABA MOVIENDOSE MUCHO Y PUDO HABERSE DAÑADO. FILTRO LAS 10 TAZAS COMO EN 10 MINUTOS APROXIMADAMENTE Y EL "SABOR" DEL AGUA SI ES DIFERENTE Y A MI GUSTO AGRADABLE, TAMBIÉN DEPENDERÁ DE LA CALIDAD DEL AGUA EN LA LOCALIDAD. EL PLÁSTICO CON EL QUE ESTÁ FABRICADO DA LA APARIENCIA DE QUE SI CAE DE UNA ALTURA COMO UNA MESA Y LLENA DE AGUA PUEDE LLEGAR A ROMPERSE HAY QUE MANEJARLA CON CUIDADO. PRODUCTO RECOMENDABLE YA QUE SIRVE PARA LO QUE DICE ES.

Clean tasting water. And I like the fact that the filter design remained the same for years.

I was surprised how thin the plastic was and now realize why it cracks at the bottom so easily when you place the heavy jug on the granite countertop. I circumvented that by putting small, stick-on rubber feet/dots to absorb the pounding when placing it on the counter. I've also decided not to put this in the dishwasher since the heat can ruin this thin plastic. I was glad to find a jug that took the regular Britta filters.

I did a good amount of research to find the best water filter for me. I really like Crystal Geyser, Smart Water, Evian, Aquafina. They all have a mineral content of around 300-400 parts per million so I wanted my water filter to provide the same mineral content. Zero water took too much out and made the water taste funny because it was lacking too much. After doing some research I learned that Brita recently upgraded their water filters, now take out lead, and provide a mineral content of around 300 parts per million. This pitcher was super easy to set up. It filters the water pretty quickly and since it holds 10 cups doesn't need to be refilled each time you poor a glass (unless you are pouring several glasses at a time). There is a meter on top that let's you know when the filter needs to be replaced. The water tastes great, just like my bottled water would, even at room temperature. I highly recommend this pitcher. It can take both the regular or extended (blue) filters and a bonus the filters are cheap!

After dropping (and breaking) my 15-year old Brita, I was on the hunt for a replacement. It was hard to find a Brita with solid reviews, but I settled on the "Grand - 10 Cup".- The size: This is bigger than my prior Brita (no idea of the model, sorry), and I was worried that it would be too large. That wasn't the case. It's big, but not too big, even for one-handed use. Compared to a gallon-jug of milk, the Brita is taller, equally as deep, but a little skinnier side-to-side.- The digital reminder: My button worked for two or three uses, but never worked after that. I would have preferred to NOT have the reminder anyways, so it wasn't a big deal to me.- The handle: The handle is very well designed. It is rubberized on the outside, and solid on the inside. It feels very comfortable to hold with one hand, even when full.- The pour-while-it-filters design: My prior Brita had a reservoir at the top that would gush unfiltered water over the top of the spout if you poured before filtration was complete. The Grand has a neat design where the water enters through a deep opening with the top of the lid (near the spout) containing the filtering water while the filtered water is poured. I wouldn't try it while it was completely full of unfiltered water, but this design would allow you to fill the empty Brita, and pour a glass of water while the rest of the chamber was still filtering. This is my favorite part of the design.I had a difficult time choosing a Brita based on the numerous bad reviews. I wanted to shed some light on my experience about the things that almost dissuaded me from buying the Grand.Complaints from other reviews - Confirmed:- The flip-up top: Most of the reviews complain that the flip-up top detaches too easily. I'm usually skeptical of complaints in reviews, but this one is spot-on. I haven't had the lid fall off while using it, but it is ridiculously easy to detach. To make a point, I was able to remove it with a one-finger grip of my pinky-finger. I'm worried about its ability to stay attached over the long term.Complaints from other reviews - Untrue:- The flip-up top: Another complaint I saw was that the flip-up top flips up while you pour. I haven't had that issue. Besides the easy detachment, the lid is otherwise solid. It's easy to flip up while filling, and I love not having to remove the entire lid to fill it.- The lid: Another common complaint was that the lid doesn't stay attached to the Brita body while pouring. I have also not had that problem. My lid seems to snap in place very well, and it seems solid.- The filter housing: Others have complained that the filter doesn't seat well, and that water gushes around the filter, without moving through the filter itself. I have only used Brita filters (and can't speak for 3rd party items), but the filter fit well for me. It does need to be pushed firmly in to place, but it seemed ordinary to me.I am happy with my purchase, and would buy this item again in the future. If Brita had a more secure flip-up top, this item would be 5-Stars.Update: 11/2019:The Brita has completely lived up to my expectations. My concern about the lid was unfounded. It has stayed attached, and I am completely satisfied with this purchase.
