This would work good on a square back canoe but it’s garbage for a tapered back canoe. I’ve almost lost my brand new motor in the middle of the river 5 times so far. Once you start going with the motor the momentum pulls on the mount and it falls off the back No matter how much you tighten the mount on to the canoe. The tiny little clamps can barely hold the mount on the rim at all and don’t line up with the canoe well. I’m very disappointed with this piece of crap. The whole point of the mount was for tapered back canoes I thought because square back don’t need a mount kit. The clamps should line up with the contours of the canoe and be a lot wider. Big waste of money for me. Try dealing with a motor mount that comes off when you’re going top speed in the middle of a large deep river. I’m lucky to still have my motor.

I attached the motor, using the bar, behind the backseat of the canoe, and it was nearly impossible to turn the boat. Steering the motor only made the boat goes sideways. Wish I had tried this before my return window closed.

This item was incomplete. Holes were milled out of spec. I needed a 5/16 drill bit to drill the holes to correct size so the bolt will fit.Second thing is there were no holes on the other end. Of which some careful measuring was needed to drill the holes so I can install the clamp on the opposite end.Now it fits correctly as should’ve been from the factory.

Missing part was shipped immediately after I contacted the seller. Process was quick and easy. This looks and feels like a very solid product. Definitely will be purchasing more products from Brocraft!
