I am a Contractor and Business Owner and the one thing I have learned over the years is having “options” in the tool bag and my “bag of tricks” is an absolute necessity. This is a tool totally worth having in my opinion. Yes I have other tools that do this job but this one is really nice, in that, it fits multiple sized pipes and it puts a tension grip on the inside of the pipe that I am trying to grab without the need for me to bang it into the pipe with a hammer to get it to bite. Also do not need to put a ton of pressure on it to keep it seated while turning it. Some plumbing won’t allow it to be hit with a hammer or to be leaned on without causing more damage or taking the chance of breaking something. This is a great option to reach for in certain scenarios. Is it a one tool to rule them all? No. Nothing in plumbing tooling can fall under that mentality but it is really good as what it is designed to do.The painted finish is “eh” and it gives a feeling of “low quality” to the tool but the tool is not low quality. Let's put it this way. I do not normally like “generic” tooling from unknown name brands and I usually love listing the negatives and nitpicking. This one I do not need, nor do I want to do that to it. It is a good tool at an affordable price and I feel even if a DIYer used this once, to solve one issue then it is still a great value. So that being said, this will get used dozens of times a year in my toolbox and I am super happy with it so far and I would order it again. That being said, I would recommend it. It has a time and a place and it does give me options. It may not work in all the circumstances that I employ it but that can be said for all my nipple install/removal options. They are a pain to deal with and hence why there are options and not a one size fits all solution or tool out there. This one is good to go in my book and I like the case that it comes with to keep everything together, easily found and easy to pack up and leave with. A+ tool.

This is tool you don't need until you need it, then you will be very glad you had one in your tool chest. I was on a job where a faucet had snapped off leaving the tail in the supply line. I could not replace the faucet until I removed the broke pipe, needle nose pliers did not work so tried this tool. This tool was able to "grab" the inside of the pipe and slowly twist it out. Caution: go slow, and twist the tool a full turn as you tighten the screw. Tighten it too much and you will make the problem worse

Completely useless. Even at it's tightest it never gripped into the threads of the broken aerator enough to make it move when turned. Anytime it was turned after tightening it just popped out.

Overall works for what it's meant for. It's not entirely as easy to use as you might expect. You need to extend the back bolt a little and then the front bolt until it finally catches snugly. If you extend the forward bolt too much without evening out the back one it will be at an angle and will just end up with the end deforming the part you're trying to get out. Also don't try to make it too tight or again it will just deform the internal part you're trying to remove.Otherwise, it seems durable and sturdy and grips well enough. The main issue is that the coating. It's kind of unattractive, but that's not really a big deal for something like this. The real issue is that it gums up the bolt threads. I'm not sure why they coated the threads of the bolts at all when it's just going to get worn off as soon as you thread them through the part a couple of times and it just ends up making them stick a bit too much. I'm a little concerned that once it does wear off completely, that the bolts will be really loose.

I completely forgot to take pictures, but this thing actually works. I have used it on broken black pipe without problems. I have also used it on PVC that wasn't glued very well, and it was able to break the weak glue joint and save me tons of time. Just be careful not to over-tighten the extractor as it will split the PVC. I have even used it on a large recessed SHCS (socket head cap screw), aka allen head, that rounded off. Kept me from having to get the drill bits out and saved the weekend. As for value... it depends on your idea of fun. If you like beat up knuckles, wasted time, and burning up bits then this is a terrible value. If you're a normal person then it is a great value.
