The seller stated the typewriter was in very good condition. It was. I would buy from this seller again.

It was bigger than I thought, and it arrived broken. It doesn't have a straight line indicator, it's so big it will probably cause me more money to ship jt back. I will use it for labels, and envelopes, I didn't know it was used. One good thing is the correction ribbon works, but it doesn't stay put, because that was part of the machine that was damaged. I am going to keep it anyway, I don't want the hassle of returning it..

My 86 year old father REALLY wanted a typewriter. But the problem is, it is a hybrid between a computer and a typewriter. Not totally straightforward and simple things like Backspacing requires some understanding of how an electronic keyboard works. Works fine if you have some computer experience, not so great if you have none or are computer resistant. But thats the rub, the person who would buy a typewriter in 2014 wants a *typewriter* not a faux computer, if that makes sense

I followed all of the directions step by step and when it came time to turn on the unit, it made loud repetitive noises while being stuck in the far right margin position. The instructions said that when the unit is turned on that it would move from the far right margin to the far left margin. That did not happen. I am 69 years old with no means of transportation and no one to help me get around to see about repair of a typewriter. I bought the Brother typewriter because of the Brother name. When I worked, I was a professional typist. Just needed a basic kind of typewriter to draft letters. This particular unit let me down. Not only that, I had to pay $50 to send it back in order to get a refund, and I lost money sending back a supply of ribbons and correction tape. Fortunately, I got a full refund on the service warranty. I will never order any kind of item like a typewriter again online. I am VERY disappointed.

When looking for a good typewriter, they're hard to find. Everywhere locally that had this one for sale was NOT in stock. This is a very good, hard-working machine. I love it.

I use a lot of typewriters and this one was totally worth it. It is big and has a lot of functions on it which make old fashioned word processing more easy.Worth the buy
