We've been using this printer for several months now, and have been completely satisfied with it. Good quality, fast printing. We haven't exhausted the ink that came with it yet. Happy with our purchase.

Had this printer for over a year now, and still works great. Its a large printer, but that what you would expect for printing 11x17.Very happy with it.

Having a Brother laser printer I know about their quality, so when it came time to replace my multi-function Epson I bought the Brother MFC-J5855DW. The Epson was slow and clunky and often disconnected from the internet. Prints were so, so. The Brother is much better in every respect. It's heavy and more solidly built, as well. The first page print speed is about 5 seconds and the quality is excellent. The color LCD panel is easy to follow. But...This thing takes up a lot of real estate and getting it connected to wi-fi can be tricky because the set-up instructions/online prompts can be confusing, I took may have taken a wrong turn somewhere. After an hour with Chat, and reloading the iprint&Scan software, I got it to work properly. The other issue is that the operating manual is only available online or printed out. It would have been nice to have the pdf stored, and a direct reference to it in the setup manual at the end of the setup process, rather than in a colored banner at the top.I have just started using this printer, so time will tell how it holds up. So far, so good.

I've had this printer for three years now, and I can count on one hand the number of times it's worked and has actually printed something, and all of those happened within two weeks of getting it.First (1) it needed an update, and couldn't print until I installed the update. Had to contact customer service to figure out how to do that, but eventually did. This was three weeks out from getting the printer. Then (2), with the update, it no longer recognized my computer. Had to delete and then re-dowload ALL of the drivers and programs. Then (3) I had to get a new computer, and it no longer was able to connect. Contacted customer service, got it figured out. Then (4) it stopped recognizing my computer, had to delete and then re-download ALL of the drivers and programs, but couldn't get it to work. On its own, the printer printed out PAGES AND PAGES of "test" while trying to connect. At this point, it has printed more in test pages than it ever printed at my command. Even contacting customer service, it just didn't work. They told me to try again later. Then (5), I tried again, contacted customer service about eight months later, and was able to finally download (I counted) seven different programs just to get the printer to connect to my computer. These were not the programs included in the standard "all programs" download, they had to be downloaded separately, one at a time, until something finally clicked. Was finally able to get it to (as advertised) scan from the printer directly to my laptop without using a USB stick to interface. But that also only kind of works. I can't scan from the printer, I have to put my paper in the scanner tray, go to my computer, open the program, hit "Scan", and then it will scan. Then (6) it somehow ran out of ink. Don't really know how, considering I barely printed anything. Here's the kicker, because one cartridge was out of ink, it refused to print anything, even in black and white. According to customer service, all ink cartridges are used in some way when printing in black and white. And the printer automatically shuts down services when one cartridge is out. At this point, I can barely scan anything without getting the error message that it's out of ink. Even when closing out the error message, it won't go away, and other abilities of the printer aren't usable.Fine. I paid $300 for this printer, I can pay $50 for some ink. Order the ink from Brother that they says fits in the printer, after having to navigate the truly terrible site just to track down the printer in the first place. Pay $50, load it in the printer, and the printer "can't connect". Doesn't recognize the new ink at all. Look more closely at the cartridges, and the company screwed me, because while the ink I paid for is "compatible" with the printer, it isn't actually "for" the printer, and compatible doesn't mean anything because it won't print at all, since it doesn't "recognize" the ink.One year of ink is incredibly generous, considering I printed four items approximately three years ago. But, sure, I've had the printer for more than one year and now it doesn't have any ink. That is an incredibly accurate statement. At this point, I'd actually feel bad giving this to anyone for free, let alone trying to recoup money from it. What I have, instead, is a $300 paper storage tray that can sometimes scan if you install enough programs. Please, please, please don't waste your money on this. It's simpler, easier, and cheaper to just go to the Staples or the library to print. If I could give it zero stars, I would, but I suppose one star will have to do because I have, in fact, at one point, printed on it. Less than five times successfully.

Loved it. Do not need to fill ink over and over again. Been using this from 6 months. Photo quality is ok not good depending on quality of paper. This machine includes fax, scan, photocopy and print. Size is little bit bigger. So you can think on that but works well. Printing takes 2-3 seconds to print one page. Colorful page or photo take but more longer like 5-8 sec.

Bit of a learning curve. You have to go online for a manual. Wish it would have been included.Deciding which tray paper feeds from is a bit confusing. Not sure if it is me or printer issue.Prints very fast. Clarity is good. I have used the scan and figured out the enlarging function.I have not had any paper jamsColor prints well.Works well with my phone. Use it a lot to send recipes to print. Connects great.I like, but really…include a complete users manual please or provide one sent for free

I haven't used it enough to give an accurate review. Print quality and speed is great. I use 11x17 paper for drawings. The only issue so far is I need to keep resetting the wifi when machine is not used for a day or so. Machine is only 10ft from router.

Unpack, plug in, load paper, load print tanks. Takes a bit for it to wake up and recognize the tanks. From there print a test page, all OK. It then searches and finds your local network. Log in. Go to computer, remove old printer as default and search for new device. That's pretty much it so computer and printer get along fine.TIP: before you set up the printer there is a default password on the back of it. Write that down. It will ask you to change it if you want to prevent unauthorized access. The printer will keep asking you if you want to change it. I just didn't want to move it (its heavy) so I'll tend to it later. Prints quickly and pretty quietly but the scan part seemed a little slow.I want to print 11 x 17 from the auxiliary paper tray. I set the tray to auto-recognize but couldn't verify as I don't have any 11 x 17 paper at the moment. We'll see if I did it right. If not, pretty sure the machine will tell me about it.
