Have used third lung gear for several years and prefer the older original cummerbund/belt to the newer one offered here. This arrangement works ok if you are vertical or generally feet down horizontal, but fails badly if you go inverted, head down or on your back. The weight retention system is unreliable and you will have weight bags slip out of the belt and dangle. Brownie's says this won't happen and that they resigned this belt to improve the system. In our 300 dives per year experience, this just isn't so and we have had to sew the weight bags into the belt, meaning that if you must drop/ditch weight you must drop the whole belt. (Be sure to unhook the hose line first). Customer service has, when they got around to it, insisted this is not correct, but I tend to doubt their experience in more than one dive position. Otherwise, the gear works well and is reliable as life support equipment goes. Using an AAS pony on the back is a wise move.
