Received last night and tested with an unwound skein. This holder is beautiful and held up to my pull tension. I had no problems installing a skein of yarn. The cell phone holder fits my encased Android Phone just fine and will benefit greatly for tutorials, or calls as I work on projects. The cup is adequate and will fit quite a bit of different size hooks. All-in-all, I am quite pleased and would recommend this Yarn Holder.

Super easy to put together - just 3 screws, and it comes with a little screwdriver. Works fabulously! The yarn spindle holds yarn balls and full skeins. The magnet surprises me -- I can tug on my yarn and it holds fast, and spins freely (without over-spinning). I had questioned whether my yarn would get caught on my phone if i set it in the phone holder, but there is absolutely no issue there. I love being able to watch instructional videos while working a complex pattern. Also appreciate having the little storage cup for my hooks. The base is heavy enough that there isn't any question of tipping, and it's so easily portable to move wherever I want to work.Get this one!

I bought this because manually unrolling yarn while crocheting was causing a lot of knots. I LOVE this product! A lot of times I can't find the yarn in the center of the skein so I end up using the yarn beginning on the outside of the skein. This keeps me from unravelling too much causing knots. I was pleasantly surprised that It also helps me keep my yarn and project neat and organized. And I put the hook in the little cup, so I don't lose it in the couch. So glad I bought this.

I like to learn new techniques and try new knitting or crochet patterns by watching tutorials on my phone. It always feels like I don’t have enough hands to hold my work, keep the yarn tension right, and still be able to pause the video or back it up when I need to. This beautifully designed yarn holder has solved those issues and more. It was super quick & easy to assemble, and everything I needed was included–even a screwdriver. Five minutes from opening the box I was ready to start knitting. There is a slot right in front that holds my phone at just the right angle for viewing the tutorial. I can even still plug in and charge my phone if needed when it is in landscape mode. This neat little yarn stand even has a wooden cup to hold knitting needles, crochet hooks & a small pair of scissors. I cake my yarn using a yarn winder before using it, and the cakes fit nicely on this holder. The yarn holder rod slips easily into the center of the cake, and the small round base keeps it from falling off the rod at the bottom. The holder arm has an imbedded magnet that holds the tip of the rod vertically. This allows the yarn cake or skein to swing & turn a bit if needed to maintain the right tension. I don’t have to chase a dropped cake or skein all over the floor either.The yarn holder is made from wood and has a nice smooth walnut finish over pine. I really like this cleverly designed yarn holder!

Works beautifully!I already bought a second one for my current project, a sweater with multiple stripes. I can see a purchase of a 3rd and 4th for my faire isle patterns.Also very pretty sitting on my end table next to my couch. I bought the darker wood shade.
