I did not use it for mandoline.I had an idea to convert my baritone ukulele into 8 strings and make sure that double tension would not break the bridge off the deck.Surely, there are some things that could be a bit better. At first I put (nylon) strings on it right away and one of strings broke. So, I spent a while polishing and bending hooks into a better shape to avoid cutting nylon strings.After that I am happy camper. Cheap Kala turned into one of my favorites.
