I was impressed with how they looked but when I was trying to tighten them the nut on the collet I found that the nut was machined slightly off centered and nut only seated partially on the spring collet.I would not want to run on anything important as it may generate a vibration

When you move from regular spring collets that would be used in a 2.2kW spindle, it's a big deal. You want tool setting, meaningful tool guage length. Hassle free Z ref. and so-on.Well beyond the fact that it is a huge outlay of cash, and skill sets required, one of the last items that are bought might be the tool holding. It is hard to find BT30 ER20 so you can use your old collets known to be "AAA". But I am still on the hunt. Having nearly emptied you account of all it's discretionary cash, and bought all on the list ( spotlight - the new 3.5kW ATC spindle "wow") you turn to the task of buying BT30 ER32 tool holding cause that is so easy to find. I was trying to find 45 or 40 length. Many stores will sell the 70mm. I don't see why really. More possible runout issues. IF you have 0.003 at the spindle nose, and add 70mm it is just amplified. Add a tool to that of say 50mm or longer, and it could be a sad day.So I found that Amazon has a nice looking offering. Check the images. Good looking machine and final grind. Hope the are balanced and concentric. Shhopped overseas for the ER32 collets because you can find a reasonable price for singles over here. Make the plunge and get yours today.
