Bucklos R8000 are great. I needed and extra pair of pedals for my spin bike and didn't want to fork over a big chunk like I did for my road bike. Now I am not taking anything away from the big name brands. But these darn replacements function, fit, feel just as good. I can't tell the difference at all.Now time will tell, but I really like these Bucklos pedals.

One pedal clips in but other pedal is extremely difficult to clip in regardless of tension setting. I installed on stationary bike to use my regular cycling shoes. Rught shoe clips in but left shoe i have to wack shoe with a mallet and then just leave on bike pedal. Maybe it will get better with some use.

Overall, these pedals present a good value if you're in the market for a pedal like the PD-R8000 but don't want to splurge for the Shimano. They're nearly identical with the exception of they're slightly heavier, made of nylon and do not come with cleats. As far as the ride quality, they're on par with my existing pedals and are a great backup set if I need to do maintenance on my primary set or accidentally damage my primary set. The bearings are serviceable and easy to grease and should last for quite a long time. While testing these pedals out, they do have a slightly different feel due to the nylon vs. the carbon of the Shimano, however, the feel is quite close. The tension adjustment moved smoothly but I do recommend adding a bit of grease in there as the adjustment will be a bit stiffer early on while the coils are worked in and the grease will help to preserve them. Now, the only question here really comes down to the long-term durability of the pedal, on the indoor cycle I have zero concerns, my larger concern would be how it would handle a pedal strike while riding and how the pedal will absorb the hit. Nylon / composite pedals are known to crack and/or snap during pedal strikes and can have more durability issues as the temperatures drop. It's just something to keep in mind!

I like these pedals. Easy to install and really a good feeling while riding. More stable than my previous SPD pedals and the "PULL" movement feels stronger to me. For a road bike, I'd recommend and they are pretty affordable.

I ordered these to use on a indoor-trainer exclusive bike. The pedals are a clone of the Shimano SPD-SL pedals (not including Dura-Ace), including the sealed cartridge bearings on the axles. Installation is exactly the same as installing R8000, R7000, R540 etc. However, the q-factor on these, as measured by me using a digital caliper is 56mm, exactly 4mm wider than the standard Shimano pedals. They are the same as the +4mm versions that Shimano sell.

I have two sets of the big brand and these work as well. a little different configuration but works fine and really hard to tell the difference. I don't know about the durability over time but for now they are great.
