These meats sticks are on the sweet side. I would say they all tastes pretty similar to each other but at the same time, this is the first time I've tried these types of exotic meat. I wish they were spicy to give them more kick. I do like how they aren't salty and they are on the tender side. It also comes with a tumbler, which also acts as their container. Overall, decent exotic meat sticks.

All three varieties of meats (elk, venison/deer, boar) are delicious. They are a pleasant smoky flavor with a little bit of sweetness to them. They aren't dry, overly greasy, and there is absolutely zero "gamey" taste. These guys did it right. It should be noted that the elk and deer (venison) have 3% wild boar added to them as these are traditionally drier meats if you don't mix in something that has a little bit of fat. Again, they did a good job, they are definitely not dry, nor are they greasier than any of the usual jerky you'd buy at the store. The texture of all three is firm, but not chewy or moist. Think sort of like salami. They have been adequately ground up so that there is no gristle or anything to get stuck in your teeth. This is not that old, tough deer jerky your grandpa used to make.My only real complaints are minor and not about the meat. The tumbler is single walled (not insulated) and the engraving/marking quality is just okay. (Buffalo Bill, if you're reading this-- harass your tumbler provider. I do laser engraving and they should be providing you with something that is crisper and has more detail!). That being said, if you don't engrave things for a living and don't nit pick the smallest of details, you probably won't look twice at the tumbler. It's alright, but I'm not sure what I am going to do with it.Overall, I love the meat and I think this would make a good gift. It is well presented and an unusual enough variety to be unique without being too far out there. The flavors are spot on and pleasant to eat, and overall, it's just some good quality meat. And, you know, an okay tumbler.

This a hearty selection of wild game sausage sticks with a nice variety of meats and flavors. They arrive in a box with some bubble wrap and come with a metal container you could use for a coffee cup or out in the woods while camping for just about anything involving liquid. All the flavors are delicious but my favorite was the Bourbon Black Pepper Elk. It's got a great taste and the pepper has a bit of kick to it. It's not super spicy by any means but it does have enough kick to it that those who may not eat much in the way of spicy foods will remark that it is pretty spicy. They are all fresh and juicy or as much as that can be true for a packaged meat snack like this. They are much softer than all but the softest jerky, easy to bite and not chewy at all.The honey mustard venison is excellent as well. The honey mustard flavor is mellow and doesn't overpower the taste of the venison. I'm generally not a big fan of honey mustard because the flavor can be way overdone in many foods but here it works very well. The Smokey Barbecue Wild Boar tastes exactly as the name would indicate. It's got fairly strong barbecue flavor, a bit of smoke and also a little spice but not to the extent of the black pepper elk.Usually about this time of year I'd be out at Yellowstone photographing the bison, elk and bears. Since that won't be happening his year, At least I can eat the bison, elk and deer in the safety of my own home back on the east coast. This is a great tasty product that would be good to have out on the hiking trails, a camping snack or just something in between meals at home.
