Your cart is empty.Isopods make great pets or as bioactive feeders clean-up crew for your vivarium. This substrate mix allows isopods to maintain a natural environment in their enclosure. Place around a 4” layer of substrate in your vivarium and mist with clean water. Moisture is important to maintain isopods and their breeding process however DO NOT over water the substrate. Ingredients include Peat moss, decayed hard wood, hard wood saw dust, bat guano, earthworm casting, limestone powder, aspens shavings, sphagnum moss.

Dairy cow isopod population skyrocketed and holds moisture well. Good mix of nutritious things that the baby isopods eat as well. Shipping had minor issue but seller was quick to respond and resolve it! Would always buy from here now :D

This stuff is infested with soil mites. I used it for substrate for two new springtail cultures and they're both crawling with mites now. I verified by putting just this mix in a sterile container, mites were visible crawling on the side of the container the next day.

I ordered this for a few species of isopods and they have done wonderful and are reproducing great. I was thrilled to see mushrooms popping up as well. It's smells earthy and natural. My only complaint is that I wish I could buy bigger bags.

I was super excited to use the substrate for my isopods. However, when I received the package not only was the plastic shipping package ripped but the Ziploc bag itself was open and there was substrate everywhere.

It came in a usps express envelope. Didn't seems like its 4 qts. What? I guess if you add water.

Product holds water very well nice and moist. I mostly got it to hopefully increase the amount of springtails in my terrarium. After one day I noticed far more springtails crawling in the substrate so I guess it works seems great. I used it to just mix in and put on top of the existing substrate so the bag was more than enough
