We had our house resided and they replaced our exhaust vents with the type with slats that open when air is force through. We previous had the type that were triangular in shape that birds were flying up to and entering and building nest in the vent. We THOUGHT the slat type would stop them...nope...they still fly up and lift the slat an fly in. We bought these, snapped off the outer ring and snapped the cover on. No more birds in vent. These do advise not to be used on dryer vents...but much easier to pull these off every few years and clean out any lint then have to clean bird nests out of vent pipe every 3 months!

Great product. Reduced the heat loss and ended the flapping problem with my vents when the wind blew.
