Just buy these tools from your local small business if you can. The bulb stamper bent to oblivion when I used minimal pressure. The seed stamper metal tip lodged itself into the ground and broke off of the wooden handle. Waste of money.

Bulb planters generally run in the $7-10 range. I like this one because you can squeeze the handle and it opens up the bottom to get the soil out easier. The dibbler is OK - I think if you push it into hard soil or into a rock, the metal tip will likely fold over. But for use in tilled soil, it should be OK. Same for the bulb planter -- it will work best in tilled or soft soil. If you are digging in hard clay or through turf, you'll likely need a hand shovel. If you have a lot of bulb to plant, or have pretty hard soil, you might instead want to look at something like this .The seeding tool is fine. I usually plant seeds with my fingers, so I don't find much use for them.

The three tools you receive in this kit are all well-made and should last for some time. The seed dropper should be very handy for planting flower seeds since it lets you control how many go in each hole. The stainless steel punch permit you to make a hole as deep as you need for seeds or small bulbs such as green onions.The larger bulb planter should handle just about any size bulb, except for perhaps an elephant ear. When we thin our day lilies, I will use this particular tool to dig them up and then transplant them to a new site, where I will use it to create the whole that should accept what I take out of our garden area. Some of these I have seen are somewhat flimsy looking, but this one appears to be stainless steel, and therefore it should be stronger and better at dealing with the red clay we have so much of.

This is a great starter set for bulbs. The dibber and buld planter both have measurement on them. I find this to be so useful. I don't have to eyeball depth.Both planting tools are metal and wash up easily. I've had a dibber like this for several years now. I expect this one to last a long time too.I don't understand why this set has a seed tool. I use a much smaller dibber or pencil if I'm planting seed. My best guess is they wanted to make the set bigger (3 things instead of 2) while keeping the cost to a minimum. I guess it's an extra.

A pretty decent set to get my tulip bulbs in the ground. Was somewhat difficult to get it deep enough, but the ground was pretty hard when I was planting. This set definitely helped me complete the process.
