I purchased these to do a craft with a 6 year old. We were making bird seed feeders to hang from the trees in the back yard. They were in perfect condition but they were very, very tiny. They would be perfect to paint and use as flowers in a craft project. They were just too small for use as a bird feeder with peanut butter and bird seed.

The description stated the pine cones are 6 inches long but they are puny little things, they are barely 2 inches. Returning.

I used those pinecones for two different kind of Christmas decorations and they both came out lovely! The size is perfect, not too small and not too big, they don't break easily and are sturdy enough for crafts and even though I could not detect of pinecone smell, they sure look the part!
