I got it as a gift. It's plasticky. Not worth the price. I know now not to buy Bulova products.

Loved the look of this online. A real wood case is what I wanted because nothing looks like real wood. Unfortunately, this wood looks nothing like real wood! The case may be wood, but it is so heavily lacquered and high gloss that it looks no different than plastic. I know that this is a "style" of finish and the description does say "high gloss" so my bad for not expecting this. But it just looks fake to me. A plastic clock would have been much cheaper.The other issue is with the pendulum. It swings back and forth rapidly, about three swings per second. This is okay but about half of the time the pendulum swings so far that it hits the metal stop which results in an annoying clicking sound every second or so. So along with the tick tick tick of the clock, which is cool, you have an out of sync tap....tap....tap from the pendulum. If the sounds were in sync, it might be less noticeable but the way it is reminds me of a movie where the voice is out of sync with the actor's mouth. I've tried placing the clock on various surfaces, all level, but nothing helps.Probably going to return this, but not yet sure if I'll ask for a replacement.
