Our emergency wire cable on our trailer has been spliced together several times and probably would not have performed its job. We like how this cable is coiled and effectively prevents the cable from tangling, sagging or dragging, and has enough tension to keep the cable in towing position. It was easy to install and we have no regrets in getting it.

We are blessed to have a nice travel trailer but our breakaway switch was getting old and needed replaced.The Bunker Indust Store trailer breakaway switch was just what I needed. This device has a six foot coiled cable and a 3.8 foot long electrical cable. Installation was very easy and basically plug and play. The quality of this unit seems to be every bit as good as the old one when it was new.

The cable on my camping trailer going to the emergency release had broken off many years ago and I had not used it in a few years. I finally replaced it with this item and this works as well as the original equipment and does the job that's intended to do. I like the extendable cord coiled and the leads are long enough to reach the junction box at the front of the trailer. This is a good replacement if yours is defective also.

These should be tested every now and then by pulling the pin, dragging the trailer forward, and making sure the tires drag. You don’t want the brakes on full for long to avoid overheating so a test puts the pin back into place promptly. Pulling the pin on this breakaway switch is a bit of a challenge which inhibits testing. The coiled tether is nice for cable management and the wire should be strong enough to serve it’s purpose. I think I’d rather have the brakes engage on a breakaway in a shorter distance of separation than this tether would allow. The carabiner is nice but you need a strong attachment for it that is independent of the hitch receiver. I tend to wrap my current tether around the bumper so I’ll need to rig an eye bolt or something. This switch is a direct replacement for my current, ancient, switch and will help me keep the safety backups effective.

I just received the Bunker Indust Electric Trailer Breakaway Switch that I recently ordered to replace my old one that doesn’t look so well anymore. Though I have not yet installed it, it appears to be made from quality materials and it looks very similar in design to the existing one that I am replacing. When I ordered it, one of the reasons I selected this one is that I noticed it included a 6’ coiled cable while some of the other ones advertised on Amazon only had 4’ coiled cables. Overall, I am happy with this item and am glad that I ordered it.

I got this switch to update the decrepit switch on my airstream and use the accordion cable instead of the wire cable that I was using. This thing tidied the entire thing up and made it easy to use. I didn't install the switch, but kept it just in case.

This is perfect for a breakaway switch, we needed one for our jet ski trailer. This one turned out to be a real need for our family. Just thankfully we had it on hand.
