I used this mold to make a traditional Thai cookie, and I was pleasantly surprised by how well it worked! It created absolutely beautiful cookies with a perfectly crisp texture. If you’ve never used a mold before for deep-fried cookies or funnel cakes, it can take a little practice to get the technique just right. But don’t worry—once you get the hang of it, it becomes really easy and enjoyable.For the frying process, I used a heavy pan that’s about 8-10 inches in diameter, filled with around 2-3 inches of hot oil. This depth of oil was perfect for ensuring the cookies cooked evenly and crisply. The key is to maintain the right oil temperature, which ensures that the cookies don’t absorb too much oil and remain light and crispy. All in all, it was a fun experience, and the results were absolutely worth it!

I'd had these before as street food, but never knew how they were made until a favorite YouTube cooking channel of mine demonstrated this exact tool, and I knew I needed to try it for myself.Very easy to use, once you get the hang of it, and far more forgiving than you'd expect. The hard part is getting the batter just right, but it's very repeatable once you figure out a recipe that works with the flour you have on hand. Just watch a few videos online if you're having trouble.Sometimes I'm a little worried that the face of the tool is going to spin loose of the handle, but even so, it wouldn't be the end of the world; I could just fish it out with some tongs and wait for it to cool before screwing it all back together. If it ever did break, I'd be happy with the use I got out of it, and would just invest in an even fancier Bunuelo next time.

It is just as pictured. It has been working pretty well. It’s not as sturdy as I would like it and it likes to come undone sometimes, which will not be good if it falls in hot oil and you get splashed.

I saw something similar a few years ago on a cooking show and was excited to try it in person. Using a funnel cake recipe and a cast iron pan I was able to make fair style food at home with way less cleanup and frustration of the old funnel cake kits. It's a fun, great tasting treat. You won't be disappointed!

We saw a great video on funnelcakes, and thought we would try our hands on them. We got this Mold, whipped up some batter, and had at it. There is a bit of a learning curve to get temps and batter just right, but it's not too bad, and rhis mold leaves a sharp and defined impression. I am planning on trying it on casseroles and the like another day. Great fun for kids and adults, this is a good value.
