While the patterns aren't 100% historically accurate, they are great for learning to make shoes for the first time. Simple, easy to make, and if you make a felt mock-up first, easy to alter just like any other piece of clothing. I'm having fun experimenting with these patterns and look forward to making a "real pair of shoes". Definitely recommend for first-time shoe makers!

I would prefer at least one pattern that would show a double sole option which I'm sure would be considered difficult but an option just the same. Maybe in the batwing version.

I am adapting these patterns for my prosthetic feet. It is hard to find cute shoes that fit and help me walk , so I have decided to make them. I have a cobbler who soles them for me. The are gorgeous.

The pattern seems okay although I had some trouble deciding on which size to use--I just put my foot next to the pattern. I have never worked with leather or used many sewing patterns, so it took me a lot of time to figure out how it was constructed.
