I saw these on Amazon. Thought that they looked like a good complement to the Studs I usually use for my Tux Shirts. These simply slide onto the button and when closed look like a pretty nice dress stud. You can use them as cufflinks or for a dressy appearance, use them on all the shirt buttons. They are available in many colors and patterns. For someone who wants something a little different, these are very nice. Sure beats trying to use the studs if you don't have to. The installation is facilitated by a notch in the the baseplate. This is accessed when the cover is opened. The cover is hinged and does not come off. At first the cover was hard to open. But with use, it now opens w/o problem. These are an innovative product that mimics the cufflinks and button studs of the 50's and 60's. As a ballroom dancer I am very active and sometimes the studs don't properly fit the holes in the shirts. I find them sometimes becoming unbuttoned at inopportune moments. This problem doesn't happen with these covers. They can be used with modern Tux shirts which have the buttons and the holes for the studs. For those who are planning to attend a wedding, these are very cost effective vs. the rental or purchase of studs. Enjoy looking good.

These would've been perfect for when I used to wear a tux all the time. They look expensive in a way and provide a nice accessary when in formal attire. As a jazz musician, I like to dress a little flashy in a formal way instead of dressing like a homeless bum like other musicians I know. These button covers add just the right amount of flare. I would like to have them in all the different types they offer.

An excellent way to bypass fidgetting with cufflinks and shirt studs for formal attire.

This is the first I've heard of button covers! How could I pass them up!!This set of two button covers comes with a cleaning cloth, a small storage pouch, and a flat triangular pick to open the button covers to put on your buttons.Openning the covers is easy with triangular pick. It's easy to slide the cover onto the button and snap the cover closed. It was also easy to pull on the top of the cover to open it to remove it.It looks nice, yet it's not too flashy. It would add humor to the cuffs of a flannel shirt or sophistication to the cuffs of a dress shirt. With a few sets, it would be fun to cover all of the buttons on a shirt. My only concern is it's not an incredibly tight snap shut. I wonder if they would open while there are being worn, and get lost. So far that hasn't happened.

Although an interesting concept to get that "cufflink" look from a button shirt, these covers are cheaply made. When ordered you get 2 covers (the picture in the ad can be a bit confusing), a cloth to clean the covers, a soft snap pouch and a metal shield-shaped tag with a hole on the top (I have absolutely no idea what that is for but I'm not sure anyone would want to put it on a chain). The ad says to "gently open the base of the button cover" as you attempt to attach it to the shirt cuff button. "Gently" is good advice as the backplate is very thin and flimsy, the hinge is even flimsier, and snapping the backplate to the front is by 2 metal prongs that don't appear real sturdy. I will say, they do look good when attached, hence the 3 stars, but I can't imagine these will last long with any type of regular use. Hard to recommend
