I've worked as a server in restuarants for 20 years on and off and know the tools of the tree that I see in the kitchen and this Chef's Coat looks and feels and fits top of the line to me. The durability is top notch and this coat WILL. protect you. (which is pretty important right under how cool you look wearing it.) As a woman, Chef Coats are always boxy and get in the way of the movement in my arms - this, while thick, is more flexible and easier to move around it which is important at rush.

This chef's coat is nice, but it is poorly sewn. The button holes are not sewn well, and the edges have un-woven so there are a lot of threads. This causes the buttons to get stuck within the threads. It was very difficult to un-button the jacket upon its arrival to try it on, and I was very disappointed to find this. At first, I just thought it was one buttonhole, but it turned out that ALL the button holes where like this.Unfortunately, this made the coat unwearable! I'm not even sure if it can be fixed, but I'll have to try.I don't know if all of the chef coats are like this, or if I just got a dud... So, I would just say buyer beware.
